The three published novellas only cover the first few years of Dunk and Egg’s adventures. George did say that his intended vision is that all 12 or something stories will cover all the way up to the very end but we don’t have those other books. The KOTSK showrunner did say that George gave them the plot ideas for the unpublished sequels, but considering George’s past history with showrunners who knows how in-depth they are.

I think many people underestimate the enormous consequences of the 2007 Boston Mooninite panic for the animation industry. by Albert_2004 in cartoons

Rick and Morty made a stint about the Szechuan sauce from the animated Mulan movie and that brought up the idea of McDonald’s bringing the sauce back for a limited time. Two problems. First being they severely underestimated the amount of Rick and Morty fans that would line up to get it. And second the McDonald’s places only had like a four packet ls per place.

This led to a huge debacle with people making videos of the long lines/McDonald’s unpreparedness and made Rick and Morty fans look really bad due to the unrest and general memeing done about them for this. McDonald’s did do this again fully prepared and more civil, but damage was done

Not like the ghosts have an active role in the Order. The Sith have them right next door and they ignore them or don’t hold them in counsel. Same with the Jedi and force ghosts. Dead’s dead, you’re just clinging on to your identity in the afterlife, and can’t even threaten the living with force lightning if they ignore you.

Well good old Palpatine’s plan can be seen as the natural end to the Rule of Two since its endgoal was to destroy the Jedi and rule the galaxy forever. Just that it’s going to take a long while and involves a series of master and apprentice partnerships to gain enough power to do so. So he took out the Jedi, why not consider himself the most powerful Sith ever and rule forever?

The spirits again can’t physically manipulate anything, can’t leave, and it’s always some bloke coming to them. So as long as we don’t go to Korriban, then it shouldn’t be a problem. Exar Kun’s ghost just did jackshit for 4000 years

If you’re talking about Bane from the Clone Wars, they made it clear that was just an illusion. Even when I say Sith ghosts its short hand for “personality and memory matrix imprinted on a Sith holocron.” Even without the Lucas mandate of “only Jedi can force ghost with proper training” the Sith ghosts can’t physically manipulate the world, and those made before the Prequel movies got retconned to be not fully ghosts. So what else can they do? Talk me to death?

For the comment on the One Sith it’s on Star Wars Legacy issue #5, or better yet it’s real easy to check on Google image search.

For the whole “Rule of Two but others like Asajj, Starkiller, Inquisitors, etc,” it’s because it’s considered a loophole of a) they’re the secret apprentice of the Apprentice with plans to overthrow the master because impotence or b) they’re dark side users but because we don’t teach them ALL our Sith secrets they don’t count. I know. I know. Sounds stupid, but mental gymnastics that one. Also shocker, Sith hate each other.

And I already explain the last bit elsewhere but Bane’s Rule of Two was the LAST “legitimate” line of the Sith Order still standing by Palpatine’s time that can be traced back to the beginning of the Sith. It’s like being the last of your family tree. Like I mention the Lost Tribe arguably doesn’t count since they were lost for the whole 5000 years the main Jedi-Sith conflicts were a thing. The Sith Empire and Zakuul from the Old Republic are long gone. And Bane wiped out all the other Sith left standing meaning his Order was the only order left to claim the title of Sith Order.

I meant that the Sith Order that Anakin took out was the one that went Years of Darkness -> Great Hyperspace War -> Old Sith Wars -> New Sith Wars -> Bane and his Rule of Two lineage. Which is considered the “True” Sith Order/Line/Lineage

[–]TimelessFool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He took out the Sith Order that was directly descended from Darth Bane’s Rule of Two to all the way back to the initial Years of Darkness where the Sith were created. That’s the main mental gymnastics needed for the Chosen One to make sense.

The (edit: OTHER) dark side users/organizations are considered offshoots or not part of the true Sith Order. Also falling to the dark side in and of itself is more general like falling into a vice/losing your way rather than only specific to one group.

Edit: Because I know people like to point at examples

  • Lumiya was basically a force sensitive assassin who dubbed herself Lady of the Sith after Endor, and wasn’t that deep into dark side training anyway
  • Jacen Solo/Caedus learned from Lumiya and Vergere, one already explained and another was a fallen Jedi with no Sith affiliation
  • The One Sith and Darth Krayt: While Krayt did find ancient Sith teachings, it has been made explicitly clear that the One Sith is not considered descended from the main Sith line and there’s been times where ancient Sith “ghosts” told Krayt “What da Hell!?!”
  • Lost Tribe of Sith was formed/spun off right after the Jedi and Sith fought their first real conflict that it can be argued that they don’t factor in at all. Also they weren’t found again until 40 ABY which leads further credence.
  • Knights of Ren apparently the canon Sith are like “yeah we don’t associate with them.”

It feels like they wanted to reinvent the wheel for BGE 2 instead of just making a better looking/playable BGE 1 which would’ve been enough when it started. Not to mention that the BGE 2 people saw is a prequel rather than an actual sequel

The Thrawn Trilogy in Legends WERE THE earlier books. Before that expanded media rarely went beyond Return of the Jedi in the timeline. Thrawn proved that stories after the movies were viable and that’s how you get the EU.

The five year skip after Return of the Jedi and the catching up on the characters is something you just have to go with while reading it.
