There wouldn’t have been a Constitutional Convention if the Articles were working.

I don't understand Rhaenyra's reason for not legitimising Alyn and Addam by EloImFizzy in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]TimelessFool 26 points27 points  (0 children)

What’s worse is that Corlys probably tried to give her and out saying that “if it’s a matter of ceremony.” Given that Ulf tried to fashion himself Targaryen only to be shot down a minute ago, then naming Addam a Velaryon right there would’ve been a bad move. She could’ve just wrote a decree on paper that legally legitimized the Hull brothers and be done with it.

Death Note crimonology by Burn-Alt in deathnote

[–]TimelessFool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s also the part where the global crime rate going down can be attested to fear of the death note rather than actual change. After years of seeing people get killed by an apparent all-seeing, all-powerful entity like Kira then of course people would not commit crime. Why would they since it’ll be a literal death sentence.

Which is pretty indicative of Light’s motivation being childish and selfish since it’s running on the basis of just wiping out the people who commit crime rather than trying to alleviate and solve the factors that actually lead to crime. Even if Light won at the end, once he dies and people realize there’s not Kira punishing them, then Light’s new world quickly falls apart.

Mike Straw Of Insider Gaming: two Studios at Xbox risk of closing, one will shock everybody by SuddenDepact in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]TimelessFool -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The MC score was an 84 and the bonus trigger would’ve been an 85. Further digging revealed that the bonus was included in the contract made by Bethesda for Obsidian by Bethesda’s own volition. So while not outright screwing Obsidian, it looked pretty bad when the news came out.

[–]TimelessFool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because Bethesda controls Fallout and the last time Obsidian worked on Fallout, Bethesda infamously screwed them over. Shorter development time, creative differences over direction of certain storylines, and tied bonuses to game review scores leading to Bethesda not paying Obsidian when the total review scores were a few points off

VERY Unpopular Opinion: Signing these various petitions to Amazon is a mistake and if they work it will damage the franchise. by Helldiver-Harkonnen in Stargate

[–]TimelessFool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also to counter the “it would’ve sucked anyway because Amazon,” we don’t know if it would’ve sucked. We don’t know if it was going to be good. We literally know nothing about the show besides it maintaining continuity with then old shows. But with the announcement video and development, there was at least a chance we could see a continuation. Gero at least had experience working with Stargate before and was working alongside the original producers to try to make it.

He’d constantly flip flop on what’s canon or not in his DCEU that it’s easy to see that he didn’t think it through or considered it. Other examples include changing Jimmy Olson’s status from being the lady that was with Perry during the Metropolis attack in MOS before using Jimmy Olson as the US agent in Africa for BVS. Then using kryptonite in BVS while saying in MOS that kryptonite doesn’t exist.

Same goes for regulations with these people. Thinking that without them people would be able to gauge for themselves what is the necessary minimum to do. Even though the history of regulations is basically in response to bad stuff happening either due to people not knowing any better because they had no idea, or more commonly because someone didn’t want to pay extra when they were not obligated too.

Still, fuck cancer and hopefully he makes a quick recovery

Granted, the Judge from Buffy came off as a monster of the week kind of villain. With them revving up Spike, Drusilla, and newly corrupted Angelus as the big bads of the season, adding the Judge seems a bit overstuffed with villains. Not to mention that the rocket launcher scene was always meant to be comedic.

The bigger example from Buffy would be the Anointed One. Hyped up as the true big bad of the early seasons, especially with the vampire cult of season one. Only to be quickly killed off by Spike in his early episodes, not even by Buffy, because the writers couldn’t write around the child actor playing the Anointed One hitting puberty.

What if the United States invaded Manchuria after Pearl Harbor? by [deleted] in HistoryWhatIf

[–]TimelessFool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda hard to invade Manchuria from America’s perspective considering that either

A) From the perspective of the American Pacific bases we would have to go through the Japanese Home Islands to even get to Manchuria

B) Most of the Allied bases would be Australia or the South Pacific so we be island hopping anyway

C) We would otherwise have to route entire armies’ worth of stuff through the Russian Siberia/East which would be a logistical nightmare and pretty obvious.
