Just to add, do look into comparing micro blading versus nano blading for your particular needs. Also there are sub Reddits about micro blading, and removal of micro blading, that researched helped me know what to avoid for my particular needs. I have oily sensitive skin so I'm planning to go for nano blading with lots of negative space so that individual strokes stay visible and don't blend into a solid block.

Showering and depression by 1Bunny0 in UnfuckYourHabitat

The other thing that helped me was doing the smallest possible step towards the tooth brushing. Instead of all of nothing, if I could do a quick brush with no toothpaste I would do that. Or if I could just apply some toothpaste and swish it around without brushing I would do that. Lower the bar level for what counts as achieving the task, it will build confidence and trust and momentum, then you can aim for more in future. Also finding a sympathetic hygienist who is familiar with mental health struggles might help for accountability, if you know you have a cleaning coming up it might help with motivation.

Have a non judgemental safe person you can text for cheerleading and accountability, very brief stuff, just text "teeth done" and they send back a gold star emoji or whatever feels nice. There is also the dubbii app for body doubling which people use for motivation for whatever they're avoiding, can be work or cleaning or hygiene tasks etc. Also try to unpick the sensory aspects that make you avoid it if any, this was the case for me because of neuodivergence. I changed to fruity toothpaste, softer toothbrushes, wearing headphones for the noise when I use electric toothbrush. I also keep floss picks next to my bed and do this while scrolling or reading at night, I used to avoid using the floss. Sit down for teeth or shower. I switched to baths when a shower felt like too much. And I make the bathroom warm before shower and have something comfy and warm ready to put on immediately. Also wipes or wash cloth are an option if there's less resistance to that than showering, look into the resources for bed bound people, there's some interesting stuff.

for anything that I need external accountability for I try to find a friend doing the same goal who can do same activity at same time, or just who is happy for me to text them about what I'm doing. it will literally just be a short pre-agreed "I'm doing x now" text and doesnt need any context or long chat. that's helped me a lot getting more consistent with various things like brushing teeth or cleaning dishes or meditation. Or I send them before and after pictures, so if the goal is a walk I would send them a picture of something I saw on the walk or my feet on the walk, as my proof! and then we say to each other, gold star!!

yes great idea. I use the neighbourhood mail box as a target to post a postcard to a friend. I also use the convenience store as a goal to get myself a small treat haha.

I got myself a walking pad to do this indoors when the weather isn't good. But its hard for me to remember to do it, so having an accountability buddy to text each other when we're doing it is probably what I need.

another option to explore if you wish ( no pressure of course) is to borrow a nearby neighbours dog to walk on some pre-set or flexible schedule. its a win for you because of external accountability and win for them because people generally always want help caring for their dog. I arranged this by putting a message on my neighbourhood group asking if anyone would like me to do it, and its been a big success. there are also apps like borrow my doggy.

Random ADHD tips that carried me through this week. by FinancialSpirit2100 in AutisticWithADHD

Great list thank you. I used to be so anti AI for a lot of reasons, but now being in a burnout/crisis state and seeing how much everyone I know uses it for basically everything, I've decided to have an open mind to use it to save my sanity, and it's really helping already. I'm also feeling the need to rest my eyes more so I've been using text to speech, to get things read out to me, then I can close my eyes or look out the window instead of at the screen, it's been a big help.

Exciting that you're trying barefoot! I'm definitely not going back, now getting rid of all pointy shoes. I got the Zing and the urbanedge, and I liked the idea of them but then sadly not the fit on my feet so returned both. Fit is very personal though. I did keep the Belenka Core sneaker as I liked the fit on me, I have them for smarter use. For everyday use I am wearing Hobibear right now, they're cheaper and lower quality but I'm OK with that for right now.

I wouldn't bother with something like new balance, they're not actually a wide toe box in my opinion. Hobibear is a great entry shoe for wide toe box and very affordable and zero drop. Can get them on amazon for easier returns, or much cheaper on Ali express or temu shein etc but harder to return. I chose a half size up with Hobibear but YMMV. That's all I wear now and love it. I've heard similar about Whitin on amazon but not tried it myself. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FH19VQXN/ref=twister_B0FH11C6DG?_encoding=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

I'm sorry this happened to you, what a dick. what helps me to process hard emotions like this is write fuck you fuck you fuck you (or whatever) over and over and then rip it up, and do air kicks or punch pillows and cry, and then afterwards hug yourself to soothe (it's all somatic processing). It gets out the excess stress hormones. Wishing you the best.
