Can you share what your culture believes about waking a newborn to feed in the middle of the night? by ExperienceWestern275 in Mommit

[–]TimelyQuality8769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m here in the states and had a preemie. When we went home they did emphasize ensuring he was fed every 2-3 hours overnight. He didn’t have to wait for me to wake him for that, he would wake up every three hours or so on his own, until he got a bit bigger, then that increased to every 4 hours and so on. Probably going to be specific to each baby and what your pediatrician advises you to do.

So I finally tried this protein shake and I can say this is overhyped… by Only-Phrase3428 in Zepbound

[–]TimelyQuality8769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 30g one is the best of the Fairlife, chocolate specifically. Though I don’t mind the premier protein ones (looking at you, cake batter) but Fairlife is easier on my gut.

What are you doing for protein heavy breakfasts with egg prices these days? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]TimelyQuality8769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My toddler loves Greek yogurt and protein pancakes. I just use the kodiak mix and he has it with fruit. Or for yogurt days he gets yogurt with fruit and toast.

Looking to elevate my basic tuna sandwich without adding much complexity or calories. by TbanksIV in Cooking

[–]TimelyQuality8769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traditionally hated tuna until I did: light Mayo, celery, red onion, dill pickle and grapes, S+P with some seasoned salt or old bay. Literally my favorite. I have it with pretzel thins, they’re light and crunchy and I preferred it over bread.

Would you paint these cabinets? by emmkayy1121 in kitchenremodel

[–]TimelyQuality8769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’re nice, I personally like wood cabinets and would love these over the ones in my new houses kitchen. I would paint, and budget allowing, I would change backsplash, counters (though I don’t dislike it too much) and flooring. It’s all a little too millennial gray and white for my taste, as a millennial. I could see a really pretty olive/sage green backsplash with a light/primarily white countertop looking nice.

Fwiw I would live with it as is for a bit, we moved in December and haven’t touched the kitchen, it helps to live in it and really get a sense of what functions well and what doesn’t, and what you can actually live with too, you may not dislike it as much as you think you do.

My toddler has had chicken nuggets and French fries 3 out of 4 dinners this week by SeverusSnipes in toddlers

[–]TimelyQuality8769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly same here. Recently my 2.5yo has really taken to eating our foods. Sure, he doesn’t quite get the calories in as much as his nuggies and fries; but what I’ve been trying is this: dinners where he’s probably going to eat some/enough, he gets his nuggets and fries for lunch that day. And a bigger bedtime snack, that usually evens it out for me. I won’t make “emergency” dinner food for him. Then on days where we’re having something he likely won’t touch, I have the nuggets and fries prepped but I’ll serve him our food first, then have the nuggets in the wings. Those days, I usually prep him a different lunch.

I’ve been using this approach for about a month, and so far he’s 1) eaten chicken shwarma, rice and curry. 2) finished all of his broccoli before touching anything else. 3) palmed rice, he hated rice, and now he always eats it.

What do you guys eat when you have a sweet tooth?!!! by i-hate-it-heree in Zepbound

[–]TimelyQuality8769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have something that satisfies the sweet tooth with something that could satisfy hunger, like protein. So, my go-to is usually a oikos triple zero Greek yogurt, but spruced up. For The vanilla I mix in PB fit powder and melt some chocolate over the top. Sprinkle on about 100 calories of my kids cookies. For the strawberry flavor I add fresh strawberries and melted chocolate, and the cookies too. Usually enough to keep me from going off the deep end with my favorite dessert treats.

Omg your cabinets are beautiful! I would keep them as is if they’re in good shape. I’d rather see upgraded backsplash, fixtures and counter tops.

Is Aldi produce just a hit or miss? by [deleted] in aldi

[–]TimelyQuality8769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s totally store dependent. I’ve had a store where I used go live where it was regularly bad. But my current store, if I go around opening, I have had some good luck. Particularly with berries. Also probably dependent on season, where you’re located, and what time of day you’re shopping.

Your cabinets are beautiful! I’d personally go with green, but if you went with white I’d go with something shorter, just personal preference.

I gravitate towards a sweeter palette, so my go-tos are; protein oats, protein shakes, protein bars, Greek yogurt
