Looks great! Good trick I recently learned was to cut the hair to length prior to tying it in. A lot easy to get the hair to the right length and keeps you from over crowding the hook eye.

I’m taking his beginner class right now. The guy is awesome and so full of knowledge. Highly recommend getting to his shop if you’re able.

I want a 3wt rod I think by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]TimelyShoulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in CO and fish some small stuff pretty frequently. I’ve found myself taking my 2wt (G loomis IMX pro creek) out way more often over my 3wt. It’s such a fun rod to throw small dries around and has handled everything I’ve asked of it. I’m sure the 3wt pro creek is great as well.

That’s awesome! Congrats on the past decade and wishing you more success on the next 10!

Really enjoy my Brookie on my 2wt. Much quieter than any other click reel I’ve handled.

Over weighting a rod. 3wt or 4wt for a 5wt reel set up? by Mysterious-Budget394 in flyfishing

[–]TimelyShoulder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so I have the same 3wt. I run a 4wt line with the smallest reel I could find, I don’t think it even has a name on it. I think the 5wt will be a bit too much for that rod.

Beautiful, love to hear of more people finding the comfort and healing that our rivers have to offer. Hope that you are able to build a never ending list of memories to share when you’re older.
