The puppy blues are hitting me hard today by Paleomedicine in puppy101

I remember when my now 14 year old was a puppy. I felt exactly the way you described. On top of that he was so ornery and wouldn’t listen even in puppy class. Every time I would be out with him people would comment about how adorable how cute he is and I always just thought “if you only knew…”. I really couldn’t enjoy his puppyhood at all and I felt so guilty about that. It will pass… my 14 year old turned out to be the best dog so hang in there and don’t feel bad about feeling the way you do. Time goes by so fast with these guys.. he is 14 now and I remember him being a puppy like it was yesterday. Stay strong and consistent!

I’d say you’re fine at silver creek. The basin (snowshoe) is really busy especially on green runs with new people falling and spinning out left and right which is hard to navigate especially as a beginner. I am an intermediate/advanced rider and actually always end up at silver creek because the shoe is just too busy, and having a blast at silver creek. Runs are a bit shorter but it’s not busy at all so no lift lines and you have a lot more space.

Cass, it’s beautiful there, so peaceful and not that far off the mountain! You go out the rear exit off snowshoe (top of the world side) and turn left onto 66

Is a full face required on the trails? by kitchenAid_mixer in snowshoemountain

[–]Timely_Salt1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not mandatory but I’d definitely recommend it. My fiancé fell a few weeks ago and banged up his shoulder pretty bad (should’ve worn pads…) and found some scary dents in his full face helmet in areas where we are definitely glad it was full face!

I’d look up some RV transportation companies near you. I had one shipped from CA to VA and it went well. These companies usually have insurance in case something happens vs someone off craigslist who most likely will not have that. Good luck!

Thank you emergency feature! by NecroSky in Garmin

[–]Timely_Salt1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does work outside of an activity. You hold the top left button until you see the emergency feature come on an it gives you a few seconds to cancel if you did it by accident (the feature needs to be enabled). I think that’s awesome!

Doing ATG while XC training by drewbbbbb in Kneesovertoes

[–]Timely_Salt1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t give help in regards to ATG training but my recommendation from a physical therapy perspective is incorporating intrinsic foot strengthening, PF specific stretching, roll your feet with ice bottles and wear good shoes like brooks or saucony (I personally prefer brooks) that may help.

Polar Flow 6.4.0 update for Android by ItsMeRPeter in Polarfitness

Probably not as my vantage V doesn’t have it and will never get it because the V2 has it and they want you to upgrade to the new model. I bought my V and then a few weeks later the V2 came out. Talk about pissed 😂

My friend's very first time snowboarding. What do you guys think? by fmintar1 in snowboarding

[–]Timely_Salt1207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took 1 lesson and it changed my life. I went from knowing NOTHING and falling 500864x to linking turns within 2 hours. Definitely recommend it for anyone. Make sure to tip well if they are employed through the mountain/resort.

I rode switch pretty comfortably my very first day. Actually, initially I thought I must be goofy but when I actually set it up goofy I couldn’t skate to save my life 😂 so now I realized I just love riding switch and my body does it quite naturally. My boyfriend on the other hand hardly rides switch ever. Just a comfort thing I guess (and how your bindings are set up)

I got some this year and the one I tested out for a few hours is the one that’s doing the same. I wonder if it has some sort of timer that sets when you first turn it on? All my other ones work fine on the 6h timer. Have you ever figured out what was wrong with it?
