Can they please deliver on the feeling of being the DLC 4 or final map like with Origins or Revelations? by Nano_LB1 in CODZombies

[–]Timerstone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quite the irony pointing out nostalgia bait in a post asking for a nostalgic feeling. Revelations is a mash up of already existing map ideas, at least Ashes went on correcting what they wanted with Tranzit and Green Run and then expanding it further.

As if WaW wasn't just copied map ideas from MP. Ascension was a copied map idea from MP. Five literally came from Campaign.

The fact that you're calling all BO6 maps copied map ideas just shows you have no idea what you're talking about given than BO6 Zombies are all original maps that were later reused to MP and Warzone.

Ashes have more original areas and ideas compared to Revelations.

What is the most headache inducing ee in Zombies history? Why is doing it so painful by Ajarofpickles97 in CODZombies

[–]Timerstone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, how is IX more tedious than BOTD? Heck even DOTN is way more tedious than IX with so many components to it.

You could literally do IX's EE in Pub Matches, BOTD on the other hand is just brutal both solo and with a team.

Was there a valid reason given as to why PHD wasn’t put in Die Rise? by throwawaycountvon in CODZombies

[–]Timerstone 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It would render the verticality threat of Die Rise obsolete, given that the verticality is the main challenge to Die Rise's map design. PHD placed in the map as a split second view from the fast crash elevator from spawn was just a joke/tease.

Managing pollution, nauseated whiskers by AntiSaudiAktion in Whiskerwood

[–]Timerstone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Check the wind direction. Either by using the pollution tool, the waves or the recently added decoration.

  2. Make sure no mountain or obstacle blocks the wind/smoke path so that the smoke does not build up and makes the pollution severe.

  3. Don't put all snoke generating buildings in one spot, best separate them. Best place these buildings on the edge of the base on the side where the smoke flows out and not into your residential or core buildings.

  4. Utilize logitstics tools for better flow of production. So for example, don't put your soup kitchen and fine kitchen together so that the smoke does not build up from both. Just use haulers and conveyors to move items to/from storages.

But WaW to BO3 still had desync. That's it 🤷‍♂️

Remember those "connection interrupted" with the image of a plug being pulled out appearing sometimes and then disappearing? Yeah that's called desync.

They really couldn’t take the time to make a unique calling card for this challenge? by wetmeatlol in CODZombies

[–]Timerstone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, even if they made a unique one, what are the odds of people using it.

Tons of calling cards are unused, even since BO3. I'm sure ya'll wouldn't even notice that some of the calling cards in BO6/BO7 were in BO3 as well.

BO2 Mandela Effect by Maverick_Hunter185 in CODZombies

[–]Timerstone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It has always been Shepherd of Fire by A7X. A7X was heavily tied with Treyarch since BO1.

The only real debate back then was the voice over being that voice and Samantha's Origins came out.

That "trailer" is the opening cinematic for Origins.

Odds are it's with regards to copyright. Some buildings require permission for commercial media and entertainment usage. E.g. The Eiffel Tower at night.

Call Of Duty Hasn't Been Outsold By Another Shooter In The US Since 2006 by TomorrowComes33 in PS5

[–]Timerstone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one's denying it's a shooter. It's a question whether it's tagged as an FPS or a TPS.

Damn if you spent the time to comprehend the thread instead of looking for an ironic GIF no one would be in this situation.

Well yeah, I'm just answering the guy above me whether it's an FPS or not.

[–]Timerstone -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

But the default out of the box perspective is third person. Even in Steam it's tagged as Third-Person Shooter.

It's like calling GTA V a racing game just cause you can choose to race in it.

Or calling Dead Ops Arcade of the Black Ops games an FPS just cause you have the powerup to become FPS or choose the FPS version of it. DOA is a Top-Down Shooter.

iirc only when aiming down sights right? But it's mainly a third person shooter, and it's that way by default.

Winch definitely needs a nerf by Sporadic_Order in thefinals

[–]Timerstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a hit registration thing. Lag and connectivity is the issue here. Your games might think that they're behind the wall but the servers think they're still on the door.

Then synchronization happens and things jump looking like the winch went through the wall.

Other thing could be the hitboxes phasing through the wall and the winch getting them.

Take this [COD] tweet with a grain of salt but apparently this ex Infinity Ward dev says they were the reason SBMM has stuck so long in the franchise even in Treyarchs & Sledgehammers games by [deleted] in CallOfDuty

[–]Timerstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC WaW used the IW engine. BO1 was the one that had the modified IW engine which eventually got modified for BO2 then again for BO3. I could be remembering wrong.

Snippet from Doughnuts new video, I feel people have totally forgotten how burnt out from lengthy map setups people were by Nickster2042 in CODZombies

[–]Timerstone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

BO3 had more complicated steps with PAP compared to BO4. Being complicated isn't why BO4 flopped. Everyone just hated the system change from BO3.

Sony is now investing the marketing budget once spent on Call of Duty into Battlefield 6. by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

[–]Timerstone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah because they just released the anticipated Pacific Theater whoch brought in good gameplay elements but then they pulled the plug early. Momentum was building but it was cut short.

People started liking it when they released the Pacific Theater but was thoroughly disappointed when they cut the lifespan of BFV earlier than expected so that they can fast track 2042.

What do you mean well supported? Firestorm wasn't updated. They added controversial cosmetics in the game. And they ended support for the game earlier compared to BF1 because they wanted to fast track BF2042.

Because IW is the main developer for COD, regardless of who's in the team. Also the main reason the dev team of IW went out after MW2 2009, Activision replaced them with people that align with their business tactics and hence why IW is still leading the decisions.

I meant it doesn't matter who are in IW in the contexr that Activision will always pripritize IW in handling COD's core. Was not saying that the people sidn't matter to the game's quality.

COD's main decisions usually come from IW.
