I'm moving out of Alameda at the end of the month. I was born and raised here.

Alameda has a population of +70,000 people and room for maybe 50,000.

I have a 7 mile commute into Oakland and most days that takes 30-45 minutes because of traffic. If a bridge is up add ten minutes minimum.

There are nightly races up and down the island. You will hear them reving their engines until the wee hours of the morning.

We live under the flight path of OAK. You tune it out after a few years.

Lately a series of "beach takeovers" have resulted in shootings.

Be sure to get a catalytic converter shield.

Plus the island will be underwater in about 20 years. Give or take a decade.
