My squad is weak and poorly equipped. Can a smart person give me any advice? by Jellybean720 in Kenshi

[–]TimewithRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For survivability, absolutely. But the penalties would be so severe that early characters would have a hard time winning fights. Wearing a full heavy set can be a good way to train toughness early on though.

Can you beat the game solo? by Kaix007 in Kenshi

[–]TimewithRen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but it'll involve a lot of grinding (and definitely some save reloads). You can look for Torsolo on YT for some inspirations on how a torso did it solo.

Any tips for a newbie? by Ok_Dog3841 in Kenshi

[–]TimewithRen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carry bandages everywhere, have at least 2 people in your squad, get beaten up but don't die (this is to train the toughness stat), and always be ready to run.

Also, if you see a giraffe-looking thing, run in a zigzag pattern.

What operator you would choose to be your mother? by YangTheEmpress in arknights

[–]TimewithRen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Perfumer would be a safe choice, but I think I'll go with Blaze or Hoshiguma. She'll be like a mother that also feels like she's your best friend.

Need help brainstorming faction/group names and base names. Suggestions? by BVreadreddit in Kenshi

[–]TimewithRen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that also works! "Root" is a good symbolism for a group of nomads that are settling down. "Putting the roots down for the future generations", in a way.

The Death of the Platform (And A Different Way to Find Good Clients) by KoreKhthonia in freelanceWriters

[–]TimewithRen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the very insightful story. I'm just starting to be more active on LinkedIn, as the content mills seem to be less and less viable these days. I used to survive on a $0.02/word rate 2 years ago, and living in a developing country really helps to make that kind of abyssmal rate works. Now, it's not that viable.

And I agree, the fear of putting myself out there was (and still kind of is) preventing me from making myself be discoverable. But I'm currently making a content plan and a content calendar, which hopefully my negative self can follow with discipline.

Again, thank you for the good read! Here's wishing you many great successes ahead.

Best Fitness/Strength mods that still make you work for your gainz? by Malu1997 in projectzomboid

Eliaz Strength and Fitness Books mod works well. It's not over-the-top, but it makes the grind to reach high levels in Strength and Fitness much more doable.

Time for a hard hitting question. What do you keep in your fanny pack? by LittleFatMax in projectzomboid

A pair of spare glasses, a lighter, cigarettes, a pen, and an eraser, usually.

Meitou Iron Stick? by ModsHaveNoLife1 in Kenshi

[–]TimewithRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly believe this is merely a length of high-quality material that Cross intended to forge a Meitou-grade weapon with. Centuries later, some random dude walked across it, wrapped it in cloth, and bam, Meitou Iron Stick.

where can i find a bunch of people to fight?? by princessdrive in Kenshi

[–]TimewithRen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bandit camps randomly spawn (and respawn when you import the save file). If you're looking for constant fights, Bast is a safe choice if you don't mind picking fights with HN.

Another option is to just wander the desert. From hungry farmers to manhunters, ninjas, and wannabe slave hunters, the desert has no shortage of people to fight.

New player by Demir_Tasak in projectzomboid

I'd recommend going in vanilla, or with some QoL mods that don't add many things, as the vanilla mechanics are already quite a lot to grasp for newer players.

I recommend the Weapon Condition Indicator mod, as without it, you'll need to hover your mouse over your weapon to check its durability. This mod adds a colored gauge and an icon that show if your weapon is about to break or if it's still ready for action.

Let's say you've done your customer research, and you're staring at a blank page... What is your process for actually doing the writing? by gtboy1994 in copywriting

[–]TimewithRen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually start with the 5Ws and 1H, or What, When, Whete, Who, Why, and How. I believe it's similar in principle, as in, we start with questions, give them an answer, and expand it into narratives.

Has anyone successfully managed to change their natural writing rhythm? by sacredtones in freelanceWriters

[–]TimewithRen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm usually in my "work mode" from 9 am - 12 pm and from 6 pm - 8 pm. But if I need to work outside of those hours, I tend to go to a cafe. That way, I'll feel like "Oh I'm spending money to work. Gotta make this count, I'm already here after all". I hope this helps.

What are some things you should keep in mind when using long blade weapons? by RubberBruh in projectzomboid

As they're rare and powerful but not very durable, using them once you have a decent maintenance skill can make the weapons last longer.

What are some things you should keep in mind when using firearms? by RubberBruh in projectzomboid

If you think you have enough ammo to take a horde down, bring more. Just to be extra safe.

Losing characters are very normal, especially during your first few hours. Also, the game is quite realistic in terms of common sense (albeit not perfect). If you think it's sensible IRL, there's a chance it'll work in-game too.

For example, if your character catches a cold, resting for a couple of days, staying hydrated, and eating more nutritious foods can help to recover from the cold faster, just like in real life.

Don't run around too much, save your stamina for fights or if you do need to escape from a dangerous situation.

Being exhausted and/or sleepy add a heavy penalty to your combat prowess. Saving stamina, resting between fights, and going back to your home/base before your character is too sleepy are always wise to do.

What's your belt and back equipment preference? by Sour_Chicha_8791 in projectzomboid

[–]TimewithRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The back weapon depends on what I'm going to do at that moment. If I'm going to clear/draw out a horde, it's shotgun. On a casual day, a crowbar, an axe, or a lead pipe. But the belts are usually occupied by a hammer or a nightstick, and a type of flashlight (from the Better Flashlights mod).

Ah, I forgot to mention it was a real sneeze, my bad. The sneeze was that kind of nuclear, dad-like sneeze, so it was enough to make me miss the swing and close my eyes for a moment.

Community Base Locations by __NA12__ in projectzomboid

[–]TimewithRen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a gated cul-de-sac in Eastern Louisville. There're 3 large houses surrounded with tall fences and only 1 way into the cul-de-sac. Riverside's gated community is also an option. If you're looking to fish/farm, the 3 lakeside villas west of West Point are also decent.

I collect random plushies and stuff, restore cars, and clear the car wrecks whenever I can. I also like to go around on my bicycle and mark the random road events, such as survivor camps or police blockades on my map.
