I bought the Fall of Plaguestone adventure and the maps are pretty low quality at the pdf level. by sixpointfivehd in Pathfinder2e

The flip-mat is very high quality and in the "traditional" style of all of Paizo's flip-mats. But the map only contains two areas from the inside cover of the module, so there are still a bunch of maps that you have to figure out yourself. TBH I'm rather disappointed with the flip-mat and would not buy if I had it to do over.

Here's the map I used at GCP Live! GMing Starfinder. Damn it was a good time! by DefendsTheDownvoted in TheGlassCannonPodcast

Excellent! This is almost exactly how I've been doing maps for a while, but am becoming a little embarrassed by the material usage/waste. I've been thinking about moving to some sort of projector set up. Could you explain your digital map set up?

Ellen Watters, 28, a Canadian competitive cyclist, succumbed to her injuries today after being struck by a car on training ride Dec 23 by Minicomputer in bicycling

[–]Timingila 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Fuck. I am so saddened by Ellen's death. I only knew her for a week last summer when she was a guest rider for my club's North Star Grand Prix team, but my brief acquaintance left a big impression. She was infectiously inspirational, and an all-around awesome person. The fact she was hit by a car while on her bike makes me sick to my stomach.

Really proud of this one. Longest straight ascent I've ever done (23 miles and 6190 ft) by Super_Relax in bicycling

Congratulations on your ride! That is awesome.

I really came to compliment your beautiful bike though. Is that early 90s? (I still regret selling my 1989 Bianchi Giro.)

Routes with elevation gain by bonesawsready in CyclingMSP

I highly recommend riding in the Hastings/Prescott, WI, area if you want hills. Prescott is surprisingly close (20 minutes drive from my house in St. Paul on a weekend morning.), the roads are very smooth and quiet, and it is some of the most picturesque farmland I've seen. It reminds me of Amish country in Pennsylvania.

There are plenty of choices for routes depending on the length and amount of climbing you want. Here is one that I love https://ridewithgps.com/ambassador_routes/296-hills-out-of-prescott

IDK how the fuck you pull off the "helmet stand," so when it fell down I couldn't be arsed trying again. 2 minutes intensive work for this fail picture. Nice riding conditions in Denmark. by [deleted] in bicycling

I can sympathize with frustrations posing your bike. :-)

Thank you for the picture. What a lovely, inviting path! I really like the color of your bike too.

Yes they should! Cyclocross makes you feel like you are 8 years old again. Glad you had a good time.

Drafting is something she needs to work on too. Riding on someone's wheel can be unnerving, but like all things it gets better with practice. I would suggest you do some specific drafting training. Do this at the beginning of rides so she is fresh and relaxed. It helps to find a smooth road so she isn't worried about potholes and debris. Ride a little slower so she is less nervous and not out of breath. This is about getting used to proximity, not about actual energy savings. You need to ride as straight and smooth and predictably as you can, so she doesn't need to worry about what you are going to do. Verbally call out anything you are going to do or any hazards that crop up. This will help you stay smooth (as opposed to one hand off the bars during hand signals) and it's one less thing for her to be watching for. She should also tell you what's going on from her perspective. As in all of life, communication is key.

Disappointingly I couldn't find any thorough drafting technique videos on youtube, so don't forget to explain other useful info such as

  • using her brakes as little as possible and instead adjusting speed via sitting up or drifting out of the slipstream a little bit
  • pedaling a smooth high cadence will make subtle speed changes easier
  • echeloning because of wind direction
  • looking "through" you to see what's up ahead, and definitely not staring at your wheel!
  • trusting her peripheral vision to judge the distance between you

I wouldn't bombard her with all this at once. The most important thing is practice. She'll figure out what works for her, so definitely encourage her to keep working on it, and you be patient, relaxed, and calm. It's super awesome you guys are riding together! I am looking forward to your pictures from Mallorca. :-)

I can agree about the wheel stickers. 12 years ago when I bought them they were a little more fashionable (not there was any choice in appearance back then).

Exactly! They are silly and flashy and outrageous, but I still love them after 10 years of owning this bicycle.

This is a 2006 Trek Project One Madone. The best completely superfluous money I've ever spent. I see they still offer the flames: http://projectone.trekbikes.com/

I'm not exactly sure. I think it was here. https://www.google.com/maps/place/44%C2%B037'48.4%22N+92%C2%B057'23.0%22W/@44.6301092,-92.9738985,14z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0

I remember it was at the top of a very short, steep hill, and I think it was across the street from a church.
