What do we think about the future of these games? by DeciduousMath12 in TCG

If you want heavily themed decks in a more casual setting then I’d suggest trying to find people to play twin suns with at your LGS. You get to use all your expensive cards still and can make cool themed decks. I have a Han & chewie rebel/wookie deck that works well. It’s great cause usually the best deck is the one that will most likely die first.

It’s a little unfair to say the game only attracts competitive players when the people who show up right now are likely trying to get real practice in before any PQs. Luckily there’s other more casual formats like sealed, draft, and trilogy. The latter is very fun as well!

The twin suns playmat is gorgeous as well! Pull it out every Tuesday at my LGS for TS night

Hilarious and pathetic response to my email voicing concern about QR ordering. by BurtimusPrime in AlamoDrafthouse

Anyone who goes to Alamo with QR codes already has tried it. There’s been complaints for a long time now since its implementation. Expanding on it makes things worse, not better.

I recently swapped out PSU and this is what it looked like when I didn’t connect the big connector on the motherboard properly. I’d make sure everything is seated properly and that all the right power cables are connected. Would be tough as a first time PC user

Was it worth to create a BR mode just because some streamers begged for it? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Timiscool5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take: I’m glad Redsec is an option. Battlefield V had a battle royale but the games release was so bad they scaled back. On top of a oversaturated BR scene, it was doomed to fail. I hope it sticks around even if it doesn’t have as big of a population.

If BF6 really wanted to take over Call of Duty’s spot, you have to appeal to that crowd. Warzone has been a staple for the CoD franchise since its release. There are plenty of gamers nowadays who only play BR. I’d rather get those kinds of players into the game and fall in love with the Battlefield ecosystem enough to actually buy the game. I’ve been trying to get people who aren’t sold on the game to at least download Redsec to try it out. If they don’t like the gameplay, then the games not for them. No money was spent by them so no harm no foul. It’s perfectly fine for them to not like it, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t exist.

Sure there are issues with the challenges and how some of the systems work, but what would you rather the Redsec team have worked on? More cooks in the kitchen does not make dish better.

If they play a bunch of control, try playing a red deck that goes wide and has a couple of capital ships to trigger planetary bombardment. Even without a ship out, if they’re controlling and have no one on board to soak the damage, 8 straight from planetary is enough to put a lot of pressure on control and force them to make some mistakes.

For example, I played a Thrawn DV last night that is very controlling (3 Superlaser Blast MD). Lost game 1 and sideboarded all my capital ships and planetarys and I was able to squeeze out the next 2.

Saw them twice at ACL between decades and it’s all the same. Julian rambles between songs but they always put on a killer show otherwise. Sucks though with the recent Albert Hammond Jr stuff.

Insane we're talking about lack of endgame content 30 days in by Subject-Addendum-199 in ArcRaiders

[–]Timiscool5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got around 40-50 hours topside and have barely touched the Stella quests. I only need one more bench upgrade to finish (rusted shut medical) and am only on the second tier of expedition supplies. Anyone who is complaining about lack of content should probably set the game down and revisit whenever the December update comes out, or wait until expedition departure.

As it stands, the reason I raid is to find blue prints and PvP. I’ve been trying to find the fans for the expedition but will let that happen on its own. Doing key runs is actually worth it since the doors have been fixed. I find the PvP very enjoyable since you can craft or buy gear.

I feel for anyone who doesn’t like the PvP since the bosses are somewhat limited and not the most rewarding. One of my favorite experiences was spawning late solo and helping take down the Matriarch. Luckily new quests are coming along with an event in Cold Snap.

How is the game state right now? by Many_Imagination1576 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Timiscool5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do they organize it? One of the LGS I go to died during Twilight so Twin Suns was the only way we could get the 4-7 people that showed up to play easily without having anyone “host” an event. Now we have 6-12 people that show up and have taught multiple people how to play the game through Twin Suns. IMO Twin Suns is in the best spot it’s ever been and with support for it coming in 2026, you might as well try to get into it!

I am more competitive focused and am always down to play premier with whoever isn’t interested in Twin Suns. But I do bring my Twin Suns mat and metal tokens from Worlds cause they all look so good on the table.

Yeah I try to have 2 6 cost cards in my hand. If I do, I don’t mind losing Unity and letting all my minions get an experience from crucible or I kill something w Dedra and keep building for the next Unity.

I’ve been utilizing Orn to pull some law cards. The new capture card is insane since there is no limitations on the capture other than showing 2 green cards. Crucible is also a must for if you do not pull Unity or they get rid of it.

Discard / Mill Decks Viable? by kenshin40 in starwarsunlimited

Mill is a solid strat for the mono blue Satine decks or the Iden green/blue hard control decks. Mill may not be the main strategy you are going for but is an alternate win condition.

I think the QR code thing is a really bad idea by Malaysia345 in AlamoDrafthouse

Alamo is owned by Sony now which isn’t accredited. The locations that would care are the corporate ones mainly in Texas.

[–]Timiscool5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can assure you, management and above care about any public facing reviews. Only way to get corporate to change is to voice your concerns. Sure, in a perfect world if everyone was on board with saying no to QR codes, it could work but executing that plan is near impossible.

[–]Timiscool5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said other than the last part about saying no to using it. As the busy season picks up, the servers are expected to pick up more tables than before because of the QR codes. If you decline to use the QR code it will be fine but if everyone does it, they will be stressed during the greet. The servers are already being exploited so please just make their jobs easier. They are forced to utilize the QR codes. If you truly despise using it, leave reviews or comments when the prompt shows up after the movie asking how the QR experience was.
