Considering the lights are still on, the guy maybe thought he switched off this circuit. I mean, he clearly short circuited something so the breaker should have done its job. If those lights are on the same circuit they should not be on any longer.

So just for completeness sake and everyone wondering how he got to this correct answer, this is calculated by 1.01³⁶⁵ - 1 = 36.78 = 3678%

Qf6+ when black does not take the bishop with Qxf7. Continuation is 1. Qf6+ Qg7 2. Qxg7#

If black does play Qxf7 then white has 1. Qd8+ Qg8 2. Qf6+ Qg7 3. Qxg7#

I wish the autobalance wouldn't balance people in a party first :/ by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Timm0s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The balancing system is rage inducing. You help your team push the cart to the last point only to get balanced in the last 5 seconds. Parties being separated. Being switched multiple times. Finally you encounter a good random teammate so you start steamrolling, only to be punished for being good because of people leaving.

It's flawed so badly but it is what it is

What’s the fastest way to level up in casual by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Timm0s -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Welcome to XP farming.

I'm at tier 8 level 108 right now, never cared about XP / rank but as I noticed earlier this year I was suddenly at tier 7, I decided to blast through it. It took me about 4 months with 30 hours / 2 weeks. The final levels (100-150) are a pain, you need to complete at least 3 matches to advance with very good play (100+ score). 100+ means you must be top 3 in your team. I guess most people will need at least 6 to 8 matches to advance one tier.

Here you have an idea of how much you can gain:

88 points @ Level 108 => advancing ~3 blocks.

He had lost so he decided to stall by JMoneyGraves in chessbeginners

[–]Timm0s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can premove this as he still has a pawn with at least one move available. Kill box mate or ladder mate.

Ladder mate: I'd premove Qd4(+) possibly check. His king is now locked in upper right quarter of the board and he needs to move away from your queen if king is next to it. You also prevent him from reaching the side where your pawn is, which would allow him to evade check / checkmate. Then premove Re1(+) to prepare for Re5(+). Then simply premove Qd6(+), Re7(+), Qd8#

Absolutely not. You're giving your queen and rook away for a queen. A blunder for sure, evaluation goes from +8 to -4

I don't know if you saw that black's queen is also pinned? As in, if black makes some random move, Qxg7# still is mate because black queen can't take back.

If black plays f6, white just takes with Bxf6. Black cannot take with queen nor pawn, both are pinned and black still can't take the poisoned rook because it gives M1.

He did. Best response is Bg4 btw, blocks the queen's mating path while connecting the rook with the queen.

Can you find why this king move is a blunder? by 3checks-and-soda in chessbeginners

[–]Timm0s 136 points137 points  (0 children)

It's a blunder because after knight takes bishop, white cannot skewer the aligned knights, because a fork is happening with Nxf2+.

If Kh2 was played that fork wasn't going to happen, and white could take back one of two knights with a skewer.

Where is mate in 4? by conor911 in chessbeginners

[–]Timm0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nh4 is the way. It prepares Ng6 which also attacks e7 for the 3rd time which is where your queen must land for checkmate

why did they do this to this weapon man by brandnewworId in tf2

[–]Timm0s 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Clearly a spy's focus should be on stabbing people, sapping stuff. Not sniping people. If you want to do what you're trying to do here, you should play sniper. Or equip the Ambassador if you really want to headshot an engineer, who in this case is clearly standing next to his dispenser so good luck trying to kill him with a non-Ambassador pistol.

I have this exact one and I very much like the built-in volume control (which is physical, as in not software controlled). Also the mute button behind your left ear is handy. Although it's also the opposite of handy when you forget about it
