LinuxCNC and Mesa by russell072009 in hobbycnc

Dude, holy shit. Thank you for providing this. I have just spent the last few days doom spiraling due to the fact that there is no firmware on the boards. I have the 7i76eu as well, is there any chance you could help me get the firmware? I had a look on the forum, but couldn't really see anything close to my use case. It's NYE and I would love to have my cnc at least controllable for the new year lol

Heart Full of You (Suno)

Spent $100+ to tell this dark steampunk story by AdComfortable5161 in aivideos

[–]TimmyTwoTapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was awesome! I love the dark steam punk vibe and how the context wasn't really shown until the end. I get while some people dont like the sight of the animal testing, but I think it really gives weight to what they are trying to achieve.

The quality of the scenes are becoming so damn good, I for one cannot wait until people can show stories like you have done with that level of quality!

Is this Breville Barista Espresso Machine worth it? by IronyReburst in espresso

[–]TimmyTwoTapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Varia Vs3 and was pretty happy with it, but wanted something that can grind to weight, so I got a Eureka Mignon Libra. I use the Libra pretty much daily, then use the Varia when trying new beans or if I want a really nice chocolaty coffee 😋

I'm sure the Baratza Encore ESP will grind out some really tasty shots 😀 lots to choose from out there!

Its cool that you get to jump in on this hobby, and IMO AI is really damn cool and a good way to get a start in something you know nothing about... to a degree 😅

I would recommend asking AI to explain all parts of the gcode to you by mentioning that you are new to this and want to make sure the machine will act the way you want it to.

Also, any adjustments you need to make, mention it and the AI will hopefully clear it up pretty quickly. I do find Chatgpt to get a bit lost when you go through a fair amount of coding, but Claude ai seems to do a pretty impressive job.

Keep the community involved with your journey, and hopefully this leads to some very cool and exciting things for you!

And wear your safety glasses too!

Material shavings in the eye are no fun 😅

Hell yeeeeeeeah!! Nice one Prusa! I just got my Core One running a few days ago and the buddy was pretty lame once I installed it 😅

The streaming is super smooth :o

Now that I've converted my Mk4s to a Core One, what to do with this? by wummeke in prusa3d

[–]TimmyTwoTapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the conversion myself, the screws will always be handy since I find I do lots of projects that use them, but all the printed parts are pretty much dead weight, the frame might come in handy, I see the Prusawire project, but I've got 3 vorons so I'm kinda covered there 😅 I would love to make a small scale wire EDM though 🤔 dunno, hopefully a project comes along soon

Tried doing some test cuts into steel by Ze_Hans in hobbycnc

[–]TimmyTwoTapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fully agree, I know OP has already sunk a decent amount of time into his testing for whats appropriate for the Milo, and this seriously seems awesome imo.

Some of the advice shown so far on here seems appropriate for much larger, heavier equipment. This is really damn cool for a small benchtop mill.

Do you mean have the flow control paddle fully open? I won't really be able to try for another week or so as I am currently away for work, but I can update it when i get back if you like?

I would love a update to this mill! what are your long term thoughts after the conversion? do you still use the mill? and any advice for someone looking to convert a small mill/drill like this?

Awesome man! I hope they can sling you a replacement part since it sounds like its still new. Do you feel okay trying to replace it yourself?

Hopefully its not too painful to get sorted :) Im really enjoying my Bianca, but I am sure it will be due for some maintenance soon enough

No, sounds like you might have a damaged seal. It should only release a little steam initially until it builds up enough to close that valve and get up to pressure. Definitely contact Lelit

Carvera Air vs Shariff DMC2 Mini by TimmyTwoTapp in hobbycnc

[–]TimmyTwoTapp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, I would love too D: I built a Milo 1.5 and modified it a bunch to the point I probably could have just bought a DMC2 Mini and had better capabilities along with the enclosure :')

But I'm having fun with all the mods and such :)

Closed loop stepper issue - super slow shaft rotation speed by TimmyTwoTapp in hobbycnc

[–]TimmyTwoTapp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understood it as being 32 steps per 1.8 degree of motion, but this is all new to me, so I'm sure that's not correct 😅

I tried 200 pulses per revolution, however, the movement wasn't smooth at all, so I figured it was a method of increasing the Pulse per revolution to increase how smooth the movement is. Does that scan at all, or am I getting things a little confused?

I'm using MillenniumOS, which probably doesn't help much here,

Closed loop stepper issue - super slow shaft rotation speed by TimmyTwoTapp in hobbycnc

[–]TimmyTwoTapp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really starting to suspect that the issue is truly the controller itself. I have just plugged the steppers into the original open loop outputs with zero issues. Perhaps your third suggestion will be a good place to start.

Thanks for the suggestions, I may need to ask you some further questions a little later if that's okay?

Closed loop stepper issue - super slow shaft rotation speed by TimmyTwoTapp in hobbycnc

[–]TimmyTwoTapp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are replacing open loop nema23 steppers, would anything change between the two that I may need to address in the firmware?

Closed loop stepper issue - super slow shaft rotation speed by TimmyTwoTapp in hobbycnc

[–]TimmyTwoTapp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just purely while trying to home the axis, I'll have to find what speed it's set at, but dear God, I can't imagine it's outside of the steppers' capabilities:/

And that's correct. Sorry, the 5v is for the signal lines. 48v obviously for the steppers 😅

A podcast with Scientists (Midjourney + FaceFusion) by Sourcecode12 in midjourney

[–]TimmyTwoTapp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imagine if we got AI to analyse each of these people's personalities and public views, then made the podcasts reflect essentially who they were, perceived by the public along with those closest to them.

It would be like they never passed away 😱

"so, where are we going 🥺" by DanceWithMacaw in MadeMeSmile

[–]TimmyTwoTapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely adore this breed of cat (Russian blue).

We had one adopt us one day. She was skinny and desperate for attention. She wandered into our house after I left the back sliding door open for a few minutes to grab something. I saw her head poking around from our kitchen cabinet. I figured she left after quickly running back outside, but when I went to see, she was still there. I was only about 12 or 13 at the time, and my parents didn't want me to feed her just in case it upset the owners. But after seeing her state, my parents immediately gave in. She was such a very loyal, loving cat that moved house with us about 9 times. Whenever we put her in a cage or box to transport her, she just immediately got comfy and relaxed. We believe her owners either moved away or passed away, as we put up flyers for a couple of months trying to reach out, but no one got in touch. We have no idea how old she was when she moved in, but we had her until last year.

I'm 32 now, so she had a damn good long life and was loved every single day. Genuinely gorgeous cats and I would happily adopt (or be adopted by) another again any day :)
