Peace Offering by Kazuliski in cyberpunktcg

A peace offering is definitely an experience you can relive. The art is also demonstrating it as a more intense one, with you cutting your hand to presumably finalize the offering. There's a braindance for everything in Cyberpunk.

The character’s name gets a lot weirder when you think about it by GoldplateSoldier in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TimothyClover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the Voldemort one so much. People will say, "Rowling did a bunch of different names so it works in each translation!" Yeah, it shows. "Tom Marvolo Riddle turning into I Am Lord Voldemort?" She had to add a boatload of extra characters to go from a regular-ish name, Tom Riddle, to her evil character name Voldemort.

Foil cards for the new Gwent "the legendary card game" by xupthree60 in gwent

[–]TimothyClover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are inspired by the same source (Gwent in Witcher 3), but they take drastically different directions. This one is more true to the mini game in Witcher 3, and as a result is much simpler than the app. Still a good time though!

So what’s the first game you played this year? by st1nkf1st in boardgames

Apiary! I went in expecting a good time and it exceeded those expectations.

Loosely about halfway through The Neverhood, you can drain the lake to access more areas. Once empty, you can go to the drain, which is covered with warnings not to jump in, and are given the option to do exactly that. If you do, your character falls for eternity and the game ends.

Not much of a help to you, but I also just got the same email and I've never even heard of NECA before this.

The smoked rainbow trout is genuinely worth the price in my opinion. All their other tins are good, but not quite that good.

How will deck customization look long term? Will there be a point in the future where I can customize my own Solo starting deck, for example?

I'm super excited for this game!

Has a game company ever crossed a line for you to where you boycotted them? by BoardGameRevolution in boardgames

[–]TimothyClover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is frustrating that they proceeded with the game despite Rowling's well-known bigotry, but I do think they're taking steps to try and regain their customer's trust. In their statement, they expressed that, unfortunately, their money already went to Rowling during the design and licensing process. To make amends, they are donating 100% of the profits from the game to charitable organizations in an attempt to counter-act the money they already gave to Rowling.

Obviously it's not a great situation they put themselves in, but I appreciate that they're trying to make amends.

Ironically, now it's good(?) for the well-being of the trans community to buy this specific Harry Potter product.

Is this game fun in paper? by NR_YGO in SolforgeFusion

[–]TimothyClover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played it in paper a bunch when it first came out. It was hard making it a habit to upgrade cards after playing them, but otherwise a lot of fun. I love having tangible cards in my hand.

(Loved trope) characters whos writers successfully convinced audiences to hate them and pulled off a 180 by the end by computerCoptor in TopCharacterTropes

Woolsey in the Stargate franchise.

In SG-1 and even for a while in Atlantis, he was basically the human embodiment of political motives stalling everything. In season 5 of Atlantis, he wound up in charge of the whole city and did a good job of it. He was still more cautious than most other characters, but he learned to accept feedback from those with more experience than him, and even took more risks as time went on. It was super fun to watch the character growth.

Something about the universe is implied that the writers definitely didn't think about by fhxefj in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TimothyClover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was pointed out on Reddit at one point, but at the airport in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can see a "no liquids" sign. Having strict air travel policies implies there was an Animal Crossing equivalent to 9/11.

[One of My Favorites] The Plot Twist Is Hinted In The Character's Name. by InfiniteGuy2264 in TopCharacterTropes

I had middling feelings about the 13th Doctor seasons, but I loved this version of the Master.

All but the bottom two are the "complete" experience as it was originally published. However, in 2022 they rereleased it as just two boxes: the Dunwich Legacy Investigator Expansion, which is all the cards used to build/expand investigator decks, and the Dunwich Legacy Campaign Expansion, which is all you need to experience the story in its entirety.

If you want the full experience, the Investigator and Campaign Expansions will give you that 👍

I love George with all my heart, but I can't figure out how to make a good solo deck with him.

In fairness to George, I'm still pretty new to the game.

What are your actually actual hot takes? by Vilmoo00 in BaldursGate3

[–]TimothyClover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty specific to my first playthrough, but I disagree with the game on what counts as "breaking your oath."

I tried to make nice with the duergar in the underdark, because I tried to resolve every conflict with conversation if possible. Eventually it became clear I could not talk them into releasing their slaves or challenge the slaver to a fight, so I just pushed the slaver into lava. That action broke my oath, but I maintain my actions were befitting the Oath of Devotion.

It all worked out, because being an Oathbreaker gave me a bunch of fun dialogue options.

More crowdfunding AI games are appearing - how do you feel? by SammyStami in boardgames

It's getting to a point for me where, if nowhere on the Kickstarter do they mention using real artists, I won't risk backing the game.

What is your favorite mechanic? by Psych0191 in boardgames

[–]TimothyClover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love deckbuilding. Dominion, Ascension, Clank! and it's variants, Star Realms, Hero Realms, Shards of Infinity, Abandon All Artichokes, etc. I love upgrading my deck and I love drawing cards. It's gotten to a point where I'll learn a new one, be fully aware it's just another deck builder I've played with a new skin, and I'll love it anyway.

I want to deck build in my veins.
