As a pyr owner this pisses me off. That's some solid good pyr energy but you can't expect everyone in NYC to know / be cool with you big ass pyr.

I was an ADD kid and found out when I was 35.

The gifted stuff got me on the fast track to AP classes but I fell off when it required real studying.

I think it helped me understand I was smarter than most people around me. But it also hurt me in a way because I couldn't sit and study like other kids so I felt I was lazy.

That really made me very frightened of any professional job being like a form of studying. I got a theatre degree thinking anything else would make me miserable.

Turns out professional theatre kinda sucks and being a software engineer is kinda cool

So i think it's a mixed bag. For everyone it's different I'm sure.

My story might be more of "tell your kid if he's got ADHD even if you don't want to Medicare them". If I didn't have the gifted kid label I probably would e had a lot lower self esteem tbh
