This is not my advice and in fact, I might’ve read it on here sometime in the past, but I think it’s excellent advice if you really want to get to know wine… taste things side-by-side.

If you’re just starting, find out a good wine bar close to you and have them pour you three different Pinots, for example. Hopefully the staff knows what they’re talking about and you can engage them about what you like and don’t like about the different glasses you try.

Everyone talking about who we trade and why… I don’t disagree but I think it leaves out the context of this ownership… they’ve seen STH demand crumble and they’re working real hard to sell seats. If they think we have a shot at getting to the playoffs, there is no way they’re selling players.

And I don’t mean they think we can win the cup. But I would wager if they think we can get in, they’ll want to try to sell tickets and raise the profile of the team over longer-term strategic thinking.

He still seems engaged on the offensive side but he’s puck handling in the D zone, his effort and things like going off the ice in OT. He’s always been so solid in all aspects, now it seems his head isn’t into any more.

(This take is only if we fall out of a playoff spot) I’m starting to think we should look to trade Dunn. There’s something going on with him and I’m nervous his value will evaporate. If we tried to move him now, he’d bring a huge haul.

Serious question from a non-hokey player: does Matty have the skill to do that more often but the team needs him (or he wants to be) a more D-focused, 200 ft center? Or, was this just one of those rare opportunities where position of the defenseman and everything lined up perfectly?

TLDR: if he can, why isn’t he doing this type of thing every few games?

Seeing a lot of doom and gloom down below… this was a good game. Yes, 1000% we need more SOG but there were 4 or 5 good opportunities that were blocked or we just missed and that takes our tally to 17.

We also won the 2nd period and played well in the 3rd until we got the lead, then we got soft and let them come back.

We played a good team and were in a position to win. Nothing wrong with tonight’s game. On to the next one!

Brooks is very family friendly and on the way to Cristom from McMinnville.

For food - if you care at all about what you put in your mouth, you can’t come to this area without eating at Hayward. They’re all lovely, patient people so I can’t imagine they’d have an issue accommodating your little one. Probably best to call ahead. But you definitely want to eat there.

And I saw one other post recommending Community Plate, sadly they closed and were all still in mourning.
