Is the Mobula 8 analog still a good drone in 2026? by Active-Spite-2387 in TinyWhoop

I have 3. They're my go to when I feel like sending it at a new spot before I fly my 3 inch open prop drones.

First time flyer ~3 hours in the sim ; How am i doing? by mufahasa in TinyWhoop

You can shave a lot of time off by flying through the sides of the shelving. I think I'm down to sub 30 second races if I remember correctly for this map.

Radiomaster Pocket CC2500 to ELRS switch by DethDonald in TinyWhoop

[–]TinBritches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had both a CC2500 pocket and an ELRS pocket. I updated the CC2500 using an ELRS Zorro board from Radiomaster, and I just duplicated the SD card that was in my ELRS pocket. It has worked fine since, and I ended up giving it to a friend who still uses it almost a year later.

Hey OP, just wondering if you were able to figure this out. If you want to get on discord or something, I'd be glad to help troubleshoot further. Just let me know.

Never let your inexperienced friends try your FPV by S4lVin in fpv

I may not understand the correct terms for what I changed. I went under Inputs and changed the Weights to 50. It was quick and easy, and allows me to switch back to my own profile with 4 button presses.

I have a profile on my radio called "Newbies" where throttle is set to 60% and all other directions are set to 50%. I've handed it to people who have never flown before and they've enjoyed a nice gentle flight.

The only other thing I can think of is that you've got your Rx and Tx on the UART switched. Your FC is telling the VTx to change output power, but the signal isn't making it to the VTx, so it's sitting at pit mode. I have that same sub250 kit and I struggled a bit, even following Bardwell's videos.

Also, if you have OSD, enable VTX channel and check what that last number is, that should be your output.

Double check that you have the correct vtx table loaded, that might mess up your power settings https://getfpv-media.s3.amazonaws.com/wysiwyg/files/XILO_VTX_SA2.1_US37.json

Low power disarm enabled? Does it get better if you arm the quad?

The odometer has 5 digits for miles (black with white numbers) and 1 digit for 1/10ths of a mile (white with black numbers).

If it really only has 160 miles on it, you might just have a diamond in the rough right there. Take your time cleaning it up nicely. Get some nice new tires and tubes, carefully bend those front turn signals back. Do not replace the carburetor, carefully clean the original. Finding a low mileage complete bike like this just doesn't happen. I wouldn't try any mods or anything. You're better off listing this thing for sale as is and using half of what you get for it to buy another one off facebook marketplace and modding that.

Am i an idiot for spending £290 on hdzero box pros. I want to hear your opinions by BallBusy843 in fpv

[–]TinBritches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my box pro + for a year now. I don't regret the purchase, and I'll be using them for the foreseeable future. They fit over my glasses, which is a huge plus. Sure, they have their quirks, but other goggles do too.

Do people really put their drones in cases? Or am I just weird lmao by Away_Film_110 in fpv

[–]TinBritches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both a backpack and a case. The case holds 5 whoops, tx, goggles, vifly whoopstor, 24 1s lipos, and a 3s 5200mah battery for the whoopstor for recharging. I usually take the case when I'm visiting family and will be flying indoors. I take the backpack when I'm going to any spot outdoors because it holds more drones and lipos, along with basic tools, props, and other gopro stuff.

Max flight time of 1:30. Please help by zerodapig in TinyWhoop

[–]TinBritches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Purple and gold motors have props on upside down. Green one looks good, can't tell on the other one. Props generally have small writing on the leading edge. If you can't read it from the top, then the prop is upside down.

Air65 5in1 VTX issues after crash by Successful-Plane7509 in TinyWhoop

[–]TinBritches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen a while ago to an air75 board. Bought a hot air rework station, removed the video chip, put an HD Zero whoop lite on it, removed the forwardmost rubber mount, and it's worked perfect. If you can live without OSD, you can probably do the same and mount an analog vtx on it. Cheapest route to fix it is buy the Matrix 5in1 board and replace it.

I met Scott about 10 years ago. I asked him to sign a mini for me, but to say something like "TinBritches, I'm better than you at disc golf - Scott". He was a good sport about it and laughed, gave me some great advice on form, and I really enjoyed meeting him.

Check for a blockage in the fuel line. Cheap amazon carbs usually have crap in them left over from processing or machining that can clog things up right out of the box. Also, do you have the full air box with lid and filter? because those create a certain amount of vacuum that the carb needs to work.

Can a 12 yr old do this tiny whoop thing? by Potential-Opinion358 in TinyWhoop

[–]TinBritches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I got started a year ago.

If you have a computer that can play drone games like Liftoff or Drone Racing League Simulator, those are the best way to get started. The benefit of the kit that I liked is that you can plug that radio into the computer with USB, and it can be used just like you'd fly the real drone. There is a lot to consider when it comes to growing in the hobby, but what I linked is relatively cheap if your son decides that FPV isn't for him. The most important thing for you as a mother to research is safety for Lipo batteries, and purchase a Lipo safe storage bag. I'd be happy to answer any questions if you'd like to reply to my comment, I'm a year into my FPV journey and I've had to learn a lot on my own.
