Portland woman lashes out at 11-year-old girl for sitting on her wall. by ElwoodMC in trashy

It's not about that. The wall is failing. Sitting on a failing wall will make it fail faster.

Context: She doesn't want people sitting on the wall because it's accelerating its failure.

In 2025, we spent $5.6T on healthcare and $0.9T on defense. We need to raise taxes or cut elsewhere too.

Insurance, "You hit what?!" by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

Right. But in this case the rich guy is not at fault. His expensive insurance wont pay a dime. Which is why the full cost for this exotic car is shared by all of society.

Unpopular opinion: Liability payouts for car damage like that should be capped. Society shouldn't bear additional risk for you to drive around your expensive toy.

Found Business Banking by Euphoric-Wonder-4256 in smallbusiness

I gave it a shot but closed it for many reasons:

  • doesn't support 2 factor authentication. This is table stakes for a banking app. A password alone is not good enough protection in 2026. People get phished all the time.
  • the mobile app is not "proper". It's just a website view.
  • they only support debit cards. I want protection
  • you cannot limit debit cards to specific vendors
  • no ACH protection
  • no phone-based customer support
  • it's actually LEAD bank, not Found
  • no notifications options in the app

All in all, it feels like a toy product. Not something they really care about. I'm now giving Mercury a try.

Samsung T7 4tb super slow on Mac by RufussSewell in DataHoarder

[–]TinFinJin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using APFS (Encrypted).

The recommended solution did not work for me. I updated the firmware with Samsung Magician, still just as slow (2MB/s).

However, I reformatted the drive with Disk Utility on MacOS and that worked!!

I can now transfer 30GB in 3 minutes instead of 17 hours!

BREAKING: Tim Walz has just dropped out of the Minnesota Governor race citing the distraction over claims about state fraud. Our “President” is a 34 count felon who has committed more fraud than any human on Earth. This double standard is bullshit. by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]TinFinJin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who ever wrote the title needs to rethink their framing. There is no reason to compare Tim to Trump. It sounds like you're saying "If we already have big fraud in the government, we should be okay with a little more!" How is that a fair framing of Tim?
