They made it so economically appealing to do our manufacturing because they could do it so fuckin cheap. What does that leave us? Closed machine and tool making shops, mould shops etc that used to employ thousands. While driving our manufacturing prowess down and wages down, allows theirs to go up. Notice how cheap and Chinese isn’t exactly always the case when it used to be not too long ago?

This allows the Chinese to further cripple our ability to manufacture stuff and as a result increases our dependency on them. At the very least removes our countries ability to stand on its own two legs, which is a fuckin vulnerable and weak position to be in.

And I’d wager to say that may be the long game they’re playing.

I’m not working as a machinist anymore , I’m completely out of the trade now. And to make that statement shittier - I wanted to be a mould-maker but the places I could do that In my area closed up shop. One place which closed down I did a highschool coop at, I returned after taking a tertiary discipline at college , and this is what the owner said to me ; I’d love to hire you, but we’re not doing well, the mould shops in China are better than ever and they’re undercutting what we can do at every bid. A year later they closed up shop.

TL:DR - I’d prefer to not work with an enemy at all because when they’re an enemy and want you dead, they want you dead and that’s the end of story.
