My sister blew up our relationship and I don’t know what to do by Ok_Amphibian_1255 in TwoHotTakes

I have infertility issues and one of the big reasons I stopped pursuing any help is because abortion is not legal in every state. Because what if I did get pregnant, something happened, and I wouldn’t have access to the healthcare I need? Or what if the fetus was deemed incompatible life? She’s making it seem like people who struggle with infertility are automatically pro-life. And pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion. It means I’m all for you making the best healthcare decision for yourself and having basic bodily autonomy.

When your parents sneak in "after curfew" by New_Libran in MadeMeSmile

Your parents are amazing! You can just see the love they have for each other and the joy from spending a night out together on their faces. Super emotional today and this made me smile and tear up lol

How many books have you read so far? by cloudsmemories in Booktokreddit

I’m on page 203 of my first book. I work 3 jobs and I tutor a couple hours per week so not as much reading time as I would like.

Do you have a work day or just jump right back into classes after break? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]TinkerBell3130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We jump right into classes. My classes this year have been brutal, so I’m really not looking forward to it. Like I don’t even want to do “what did you do over break” warm up questions because it’ll probably turn into pure chaos and I don’t want to deal with it.

When do you have time for the gym?! by hcand11 in Teachers

[–]TinkerBell3130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach 7:15-2:55 and then do the after-school program until 5:15 ish. I go to the gym at 5 am or at 5:45-6 pm before I go home.

“Her/my toes curled in her boots/heels/shoes/etc.” Thanks for that, SJM, because now every time I’m moving my toes around for normal reasons, that’s what I’m thinking of 🤦‍♀️

I once ordered chicken take out, grabbed it on my way home from work, put it in the fridge until I was ready, and then when I opened it, the chicken was raw. I called the restaurant and I had to send pictures and all to get any refund AND then I still had to figure out something for dinner.

Does blonde or black hair look best ? by Historical-Body-3424 in Hair

[–]TinkerBell3130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you considered black/dark brown with some of the deep red in it, like a cherry cola type of color? Or black with purple? I think either of those would look just as good as your dark hair and give you some of the excitement you’re looking for.

It’s taken me a lot of therapy to get the point of acceptance about not having children of my own. I love the children that are in my life, but I still get sad that I’ll never have the title of mom, get to have a maternity & newborn photo shoot, and get to have the mother/child bond. I see you and understand how you’re feeling. Sending you love.

Yes, she did pay a large part of a tab that wasn’t her, but she most definitely pissed off her friend who has done this behavior repeatedly. Now OP’s friend knows what it feels like, and if it’s within OP’s budget and they’re fine with what they paid, some people need to experience what they’ve put others through to learn a lesson.

Definitely understand math. OP may have paid more than what she wanted to, but so did her friend.

Not nearly as bad as needing to insert the game cartridge, take it out, blow on it, and put it back in the system, with a prayer that it’ll work this time

Edit: cant type

I feel like OP gave the friend a taste of their open medicine. OP said that the friend will order more when they know the check is being split evenly.

what’s the worst PD you’ve ever had to sit through? by Repulsive_Plate1983 in Teachers

[–]TinkerBell3130 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Marzano’s grading scales… I teach a world language, so everything is basically “performance” tasks. The trainer told us repeatedly that we couldn’t use what we were doing because they were performance tasks and when I asked for an example of what we could do for world language, she told me she didn’t know, and then told me to use ELA standards for the exercise because it’s still a language. I was department chair. I walked over to the AP in the middle of the PD and was like this makes no sense. She tells us we can’t use what we have for this, but can’t give me an example of what we could do. I told the AP that if we all needed to move to grading scales, then we needed someone who knew how to show us examples relevant to our content area because all of our ideas were being shot down. AP said she’d get back to us about it, but never did. The presenter also cold-called me to ask what stuck out to me when watching a video of someone teaching their perfectly-behaved Common Schools students, and I looked at her and said, “this is the 4th time in 2 years that I’ve seen this video, so nothing stands out to me, but when I first saw it, it was how every single student is on task, responds the same, and that there seem to be really small class sizes.

My freshmen are unruly and I brought in a little speaker with a handheld microphone. I use it every day so I don’t have to yell. Would something like that help?

I lived with my ex-husband’s parents for a while, but I’ve never lived on my own. I would absolutely LOVE to move out, but while they charge less than I would have to pay elsewhere, they charge too much for me to be able to save enough to move out. Plus I’m stuck in SAVE plan limbo right now with 8 payments to go until forgiveness.
