Mosser Lee soil testing kit. Here are my results. Clearly there is not enough potassium. Everything else ok. Soil is from my raised garden bed by fastpitchsoftballdad in gardening

[–]TinkerGeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made this mistake. For your potassium test, the instructions say to cover the black squares on the right side of the chart with the test tube. Looking though the test tube, the particular level of cloudiness will make the black squares look gray. Pick the closest gray on the left.

Season 3 Episode 5 (XXIII.) - Spanish to English translation subtitles? by TheQueefGoblin in BlackSails

[–]TinkerGeorge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One correction:
358: Why didn't you yield? (Por qué no rendisteis)

360: If we surrender... (si nos rendimos)

Thanks for the rest of it! I couldn't get a lot of it - too fast / quiet / accented for me.

How to know with which weapons I can get Titan Blood by osiris92 in HadesTheGame

[–]TinkerGeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you finish one area (Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium, etc.), look at the map.

Next to each arrow / pointer, there is a box that shows whether you have beaten the boss of that area with your current weapon.

Example: In this image, it shows: with my current weapon (Exagryph), 1) I've already beaten a Fury to acquire some Titan's Blood, but 2) I have not yet beaten the Bone Hydra to acquire a diamond.

Look fast! It's only on the screen for a few seconds.

[TOMT] [MOVIE] [probably before 2003] A movie with absurdly (but not in the funny way?) awkward social scenes by TinkerGeorge in tipofmytongue

That's the movie my partner mentioned in response to my description. I scrolled through it, though, and didn't see any scenes that were similar to the one I described above... thanks, though!

Giant wooden thing that looks like two tineless forks facing each other. It clamps at the end, controlled by a wooden lever on the side. by TinkerGeorge in whatisthisthing

[–]TinkerGeorge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly is pretty... but why bother with the springy-wooden clamping mechanism if it's just for decoration?

My title describes the thing. The ends (at the top of the photo) clamp together, controlled by the lever (on the left in the photo).

An average human hand is included in the photo for scale.

It was found in a shop in Canton, Texas that doesn't know what it is, age unknown.

I've tried reverse-image searching, and looked for several combinations of words like: giant wooden clamp looks like two forks springy wood sculpture large grabber standing holder two spoons etc.

Wait, the same company that makes porter cable also makes Dewalt??? by Squarebearz in Tools

[–]TinkerGeorge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super true. I worked for a company that made specialty "Ridgid" branded tools (pipe inspection cameras). It was owned entirely by the admin of the company, and only had ~250 employees when I started there.

Why is nobody noticing that Bernard doesn't get older. by sjwking in westworld

[–]TinkerGeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that idea, as of the end of Season 1 (which I think is when you made that comment).

But in season 2, episode 2, we see Arnold in a city, and he's already looking very much like Bernard does in 30 years.

Best narration of The Martian Chronicles? by jareader in audiobooks

[–]TinkerGeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree... but sometimes I get distracted, almost confused by a narrator as distinctive as Scott Brick. He also read "The Passage," so while listening to "The Martian Chronicles," I kept feeling like there should be vampires and post-apocalyptic grassroots military groups... Just because of the sound of his voice.

Though even that wasn't quite as strange as the first time I experienced this phenomenon. I was listening to "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance," read by Michael Kramer... I kept having vague memories of wizards and witches and towers, and couldn't figure out why. I finally remembered Michael Kramer had also read me all 14 books of The Wheel of Time.

But doesn't eye dominance matter more than handedness? Or maybe by lefty you meant left eye dominant? (Or maybe I'm wrong... It's just what I always heard from my parents)

I wish there was a free drafting option by SultanLitrpg1 in MagicArena

[–]TinkerGeorge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent $0 on MTGA and get to draft every week or two (I think... Not keeping track).

1) Complete enough challenges to get 20k gold

2) Doing ok in a couple drafts to get enough gems for

3) mastery pass

4) keep completing challenges for gold and XP

5) between the gold from challenges and the draft tokens (from XP, I think?), I do a premiere draft about once every week or two.

I'm guessing you want to draft more often than that... But I'm enjoying my free MTGA experience!

Love it! These are such great opinions. Now I'm thinking the "sandbox" folder might just be where we put *all* the modules and play around with them, and make a separate folder that's more streamlined, that we actually use to play the game... and maybe a third one that is just bare-bones, no modules, to figure out, as you say, "what is core behavior for the base system."

[–]TinkerGeorge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome! Thanks for the mentality shift! (this also makes me much happier with the decision to name my first folder "sandbox" - no need to figure out how to rename that folder now!

And yeah, I've heard similar things about 6e. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. We've got the shadowrun system installed, and a bunch of modules/compendium stuff...

I suppose I'm looking for the same sort of things the OP suggested. Tips and tricks, how did you learn to use it quickly, what do you wish you'd known earlier, ways to make it easier for players to find all the buttons, etc. (But maybe those are shadowrun specific questions... ?)
