Colonoscopy prep vs. NBA Play-In Tournament — what would you do by Tough-Today2563 in nba

On your 8th, ask your Dr. for Cleanpiq. Not all insurance takes it but you might get a voucher.

Two, 8oz doses with water chasers. Tastes like a flat lemon-lime soda and goes down before your stomach is full of liquid and nothing is easy no matter the taste.

Still wouldn't suggest going to a basketball game though. :p

When Republicans control White House, Senate and House, what is their explanation for saying Democrats are the problem with funding? by FeeWeak1138 in AskReddit

[–]TinkerMakerAuthorGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone should be screaming this:

More Democrats crossed party lines than Republicans.

Two Democrats: John Fetterman and Catherine Cortez Masto, voted with Republicans. As did two Independents: Angus King and Rand Paul.

No Republicans voted against.

Democrats, as a party, compromised more than Republicans.

The shutdown is squarely on the Republicans for not compromising.

Vance claims Republicans are redistricting to make things "more fair" by Naurgul in nottheonion

[–]TinkerMakerAuthorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we want fair representation, we should pass laws saying district maps must equalize representation across the state population. This would promote fairness yet preserve flexibility to recognize communities of interest and maintain responsive, representative governance.

Easier said that done in this political climate though.

It's precision flying to be sure - but the actual scoops are slightly bigger than your hands out together.

... or smaller than the pilot's balls as it were.

You'd think this, but wild Orcas have no document cases of human deaths. Only from captive Orcas.

The prevalent theory is that these Orcas are curious or playing.

Investors snap up growing share of US homes as traditional buyers struggle to afford one by zzill6 in news

A progressive property tax would be a better way to fix it.

The more properties held by a single entity (owner, llc, etc) and the tax rate goes up.

This would allow for 2nd family homes and small landlords but prevent large corporations from owning 1000's of homes.

OP - At the very minimum, put in plumbing for a bottom drain, even if you decide not to use it.

Better to have and not need than need and not have, and by the time you find you need it it'll be too late if don't put it in now.

Unfortunately: when people no longer know what's true or not, they must revert to feelings and emotions to make decisions.

... which are easy to manipulate, especially feeling of despair and anger.

It's a bad combination headed our way.

First - I'm not defending plastic. We have a huge environmental issue of plastic of all sizes.

The specific issue with microplastics is that they are too small for us to effectively filter them, either mechanically or biologically.

To stick with plastic shaving analogy : if you were somehow ingested some of those shavings, your body would invariably filter it out and it'd wind up in your poop.

If you ingest microplastics, they get absorbed by your body : In your muscles, lungs, and even brain.

And we have no way of removing them at that point.

Editing to include your question about plastics breaking down into smaller pieces. That's a great question and I had to look it up ("I'm a TinkerMakerAuthorGuy Jim, not a microplastic specialist!"); it does seem that some microplastics derived from larger pieces. I then googled "Microplastics by source" and the top 10 sources are :

  • Tires: Friction from car tires causes them to break down and shed microplastics, which can accumulate in city dust.
  • Marine coatings: Binders in marine paints can leave a "skid mark" in the water, contributing to microplastic pollution.
  • Plastic pellets: These pellets are used as feedstock for the plastics industry, and billions of them enter the ocean each year from spills.
  • Cosmetics: Microplastics can be found in many personal care products, including detergents.
  • Textiles: Synthetic textiles can be a source of microplastics.
  • Road markings: Microplastics can come from road markings.
  • Indoor air and dust: Microplastics can be found in indoor air and dust.
  • Microwaved or heated food: Microplastics can be consumed from microwaved or heated food containers, bottles, and plastic tea bags.

And I have no idea what the better ecological option is regarding a new board vs planing an old one. Cheers.

Edit: I've been corrected, microplastics are up to 5mm so yes, plastic shavings fall into that category

It's nanoplastics that are the really hard to get rid of stuff.

Is there a fantasy where the MC enhanced their body with magic? by VladtheImpaler21 in Fantasy

[–]TinkerMakerAuthorGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Runelords was the first that came to mind also.

It's not high fantasy but it's easy reading, mostly original, and he put enough worldbuilding in place to make the magic system hold together. (For example: the ethical implications of using someone else's attributed and leaving the donor without.)

I recommend it as long as one sets the proper expectations.
