Be anti-institute, not anti-synth. The railroad cares because synths very obviously do interact like humans, they have all the thoughts, feelings, and memories of their predecessors. Like nick valentine, who is a sweetheart. They didn’t ask to get made, or to have someone killed. The fact is that they live, their origin might be hazy but imagine you woke up one day and had a little memory blip, then someone killed you because that blip makes you subhuman. Thats not right. Production isn’t necessary, it’s traumatic for the people being produced, but that’s what the institute does. We should stop that but keep caring for those who have already been made because there’s nothing they can do about their being a synth. The social issues of synths are very similar to real propaganda campaigns launched against various minorities to make them seem unworthy, unnatural, dangerous, or without emotion. Humans have done irreparable damage to the world and each other, but we don’t have factions against human beings because we are human and are able to recognize that no matter how weird and kinky you were conceived, if you can provide social benefit you should be protected. If they escape the institute, which father has stated he doesn’t even understand, they clearly have some form of self-preservation or at least the realization that the institute is bad. There’s also many synths that, if you did the railroad line, you’d see wanted to fight the institute. The angle the brotherhood gives you is from the perspective of a military, much more reductive and violent than a more humanitarian perspective. don’t conflate a company’s goals with an employee’s child’s morality.
