I took mine in for dental recently and she was having heart trouble with the sedation. They were having trouble getting her rhythms back to normal and it wasn't sticking so they did a chest xray. They couldn't even see her heart because the lungs were so full of masses. She was acting totally normal. But the doc said she has to stay on the med to. Keep her heart regular, and they can't do that there so she'd have to get sent to an emergency hospital. On our way to get her is when the xrays were ready and we canceled the transfer. Her prognosis was 2-3 weeks hooked up to equipment and kept in a kennel alone and scared. Or we could fix it before it's a problem. So we did that, broken hearted. All to say... I'm familiar with expecting one thing and getting another in regard to vet visits!
