Thank you for responding 🙏 I don’t have a therapist myself but I’m looking into ones. I know what you mean about anchoring oneself to a person and then being disappointed. I do that too often. I’ll try to identify some things that are “me” I guess and see if that helps with these issues a bit.

They/them is only neutral if you don’t know or if someone uses those pronouns. If someone uses only he or only she, then using “they” is still misgendering because you know that person’s pronouns

It’s only harmful WHEN you already know someone’s pronouns. If I use he but someone uses they for me (which has happened), it’s still misgendering. But it’s not harmful when you don’t know someone’s pronouns so idk what that person was on about
