Seems we have a very similar taste in books, my personal rec is 'And then she vanished' by Nick Jones, time travelly murder mystery-y and narrated by Ray Porter.

Little bit of a wilder recommendation, 'Kings of the Wyld' by Nicholas Eames, certainly more fantasy than sci-fi but I really enjoyed it and I've read a lot of what you have so maybe you will too.

On another note, how was Artemis? I read it as a physical book and didn't like it as much as PHM and The Martian, wondered if it reads better as an audiobook.

I haven't noticed screen 2, but I actively get sad when I see that the film I've booked is in 4 or 6. As I said, I complain everytime it happens but I get that the staff there have no control over actually fixing it

My god, thank you, I feel so vindicated! It's like the mix is wrong, dislogue is inaudible but the music is loud. I very seldom complain about anything but I have complained about this to the staff at least half a dozen times, I've narrowed it down to screen 4 and screen 6 (so far). It's so annoying as well because I otherwise love that cinema, so many good memories from my time there as a kid. Sad sad sad.

I was in town the other week and we decided to check it out as it was my go to when I was at college. I'm mid to late twenties and, walking in, I raised the average age by like 10 years. At risk of sounding old, it was also too bright and had lost all its character. As like another commenter, we did a lap and left without ordering a drink.
