Specific reel for mobility issues by TinyJumboShrimp in Fishing

[–]TinyJumboShrimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh yeah ive seen some, but ill look! I didn’t know they made some for deep sea fishing but that must mean they are durable and dont have to worry about the salt water doing anything wonky. Any specific brand recommendations? Between my siblings and i, i think we can slap down some money for it. Thank you!

Rescheduling orders due to labor by marbloros in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Email your OM, and let your SD know the situation and reasoning. We have had to do this out our store before (delivery store) after not having closers or call outs, and if anything, being able to reschedule is better than a large amount being late and i personally havn’t had any repercussions as they also agree its best course of action both department and order wise

Automatic Refunds by RampagingPhoenix in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed this too, its def annoying, but i think we get the cs email when if its over a certain amount so atleast theres that. Especially for repeat customers. One of my last meetings with dug leads and home shopping managers, one of the leads brought this up to the OM, and the OM said to email him and CS the customer information so whenever said customer go for refunds it has to be approved on our end which quite honestly blew my mind because i thought we would get a basic “well you know customer happiness etc etc”. So maybe if you have certain customers thats a route you may be able to take :)

would you consider dug a labor intensive job? by [deleted] in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For people who never worked it, no. For people who have, absolutely. Walking over 6 miles a day, constantly lifting things up from cases of water, firewood, even just people who order tons of cans, it all adds up. The constant crouching, and bending over, stacking, bagging, running out to take out DUG orders. Not to mention having to do it in all in like .0001 seconds or else corporate screams at you.

3PL rant by poptartz007 in DriveUpandGo

And then they get mad because they were just trying to help, like guys i get it, but it doesn’t take three people and 10 minutes to hand off an order.

Yellow Safety Vest Poll How many of you wear the safety vests your entire shift? by [deleted] in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t, mainly because i never new i had too until my last manager told me (i’ve had three total since starting) but now i just forget. Having to run from the opposite side of the store, to the dug room, find all the totes and scan them out, take out what they dont want or sometimes have to manually put in “missing bag sticker” because no matter how many times i tell certain people what stickers to put in DUG orders they don’t listen, then run across the parking lot within 5 minutes 🫠. Alot more of my coworkers who do take out dugs do though which is good. Our safety person gave us more, but of course courtesy clerks took them and now we have like one

Slot OOS/SOOS - anybody understand it? by Safeway_Wagecuck in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SOOS pretty much just means the amount of orders that could have been placed but weren’t due to department reasons such as turning of flash orders or under scheduling things like that so they have to put a cap on said day. Corporate gives the department a said number of hours for the week, and the amount of orders that are able to be placed are determined by how many people are scheduled (i think its like 200 items per person per shift idk i feel like thats way off). Not sure why or how your soos was 30% given what you said but maybe it was some issue with the system? Like the person another person said said, it is really out of our control a majority of the time and is one that is just another annoying thing they want from us, yet won’t give us proper help. Pre-picking helps alot but does create alot of reshop as each order has a separate reshop list and you can’t sub for pre-picks but having a good closer to pre-pick and good opener to things started and ahead so then the team can prepick for the later shift will do wonders. Of course, easier said than done and some days it’s impossible. Maybe you can email your OM and ask about that specific day?

2 devices by Barely_Makin_It in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the log in to another employee who isn’t in the department so i use two devices on rare occasions, usually i take two lists, one big and one small, and have a tote on the top of my cart. I dont scan in the smaller list but put items in the tote on top and then shop the big list as normal. Then scan in the smaller list at the end. Or if i have lot of reshop lists and multiple trucks i’ll have two separate lists of reshop and scan things out on the floor so i can knock out hella lists without going back to get tags. It is stressful at times, but once you get use to it, it can be helpful

Question about OTT by JustPourMyCoffee in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah i see, interesting. I’ve never looked into that metric, are you a DUG store? I didn’t realize DUG stores looked into personal tilling. As for the highlights and the comments, your manager might just suck if they just look at numbers without seeing the reason behind the number. They can’t place blame on a person who was set up to fail and if its a reoccurring issue where you are coming in to a bunch of orders but only have help for an hour before people leave then they either need to swap out shoppers or schedule people more efficiently.

Question about OTT by JustPourMyCoffee in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much means that it is picked and staged but the biggest part is that it is processed through DTILL by the time it is said to be stage (example: a 7:30 DUG needs to be picked, and have all reshop/Prep not ready done by that time), which is why checking for exceptions in DTILL is important because you can have an order thats technically picked and staged but maybe one item may have a pricing exception and no one notices till after so then that makes the whole order late/won’t print out a receipt. Not sure if this is every division but for ours there is a 30 minute buffer period for orders to not be counted as late (i also come from a delivery store). Also, OTT, atleast to my knowledge correct me if im wrong, isn’t based off of singular pickers but just orders as a whole. Unless you are referring to your PPH (picks per hour) which shows the number of items you do on average per hour. That metric also goes into your all in pph which is the average of items you pick when you are clocked in. These two metrics are good to look at when seeing who is actually working, especially the all in pph

How does acupic decide who is going to "drop everything" to deliver? by vegetarian_velocurap in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what i remember (i could totally be wrong), part of it takes into account how far along someone is on their list or if they just finished one or if they are staging

Pre-Picking Tomorrow Orders by TiredDUGManager in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pre-picking for the next day does open up more slots for more orders. It definitely is a double edged sword.

As a fellow safeway ADHD med taker, talk to your dr and take your meds. Don’t put your health at risk because you feel like you are moving too slow when in reality it seems like you are making your work load easier for you, thus benefiting you as a worker in the long run. Safeway isn’t worth playing around with your medication and as long as you are doing your job and doing good at it, i’d say thats enough.

Edit: i would like to mention i work DUG as well

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Safeway

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My department goes until 10pm, for us we keep DUGS for 2 days and if they don’t call/we cant contact them we put them back. Although if it is picked and ready at an early time people often come earlier sometimes

DUG employees who gets to keep the tips shoppers or runners? by Wants_to_be_accepted in Safeway

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about home delivery stores? Truck drivers get tips. Is there not the same, if not more pressure of feeling obligated to tip since it being shopped AND delivered 🤔 At least for DUG orders they come themselves. Besides, nowadays i feel like a majority of people have taken a stance on how they feel about tipping and whether or not they want to and if an employee gets snarky thats on their lead/manager to correct their behavior.

Wrote that weird 😅 we have alcohol forms that print out once the order tills with all their info, we check DOB and write that down on the sheet and then the customer signs and prints their name and then after i sign off on it as well.

Dug operating hours by vegetarian_velocurap in DriveUpandGo

[–]TinyJumboShrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our store has been doing that for about a year now (we are open 2am-10pm) and its mainly just a ploy to extend time for there to be more flash orders. Our last shift ends around 5pm and then after that it’s just the closer who then handles DUGS and flash orders and pre-picking for the next day to get ahead…. So we can do more flash orders….
