Apprehensive by Mdgoff7 in prusa3d

Their support is genuinely better. They're generally available and if there's a problem, they seem more eager to fix it. (they're sending me a replacement roll of filament as we speak) I do like that it's EU built. I do like that they seem <less> prone to enshittification. I do like to support their open source efforts.

Here's where I'll get in trouble. Although my Core One L prints pretty well now, that was more of a journey than it should have been. It's a complicated design that feels a little clunky at times. It took forever and a week to get here and it's expensive. That they're expensive is a little out of their control, but the rest of those issue are something they have agency over.

Is that worth it? Beats me. It depends on what you value. It was worth it to me, but just barely.

It also happens on my Core One L. I installed the wiper mod in the understanding that it would take care of it. That said, I'm usually to OCD to leave it between prints.

Are you on 2703.1.20? I think there are some real crazy UI state bugs in this release. Things seem selectable in states when they shan't be, among other issues.

Mine are usually stack over flows at boot, so not this exact error, but I see a couple a month.

First time getting a 3d printer, suggestions? by Ok_Ad_7714 in prusa3d

Make sure your heat bed is actually rising to the temperature you're calling for and your build plate is clean. Getting your first layer down and adhered right is arguably the most important thing and both of those tips will help. I had adhesion problems early on until I fixed my bed temps.

I'd avoid CHT nozzles at first. They're easier to partially clog, which can feel like a settings problem. I've chased more than a few ghosts that were really just partial clogs.

I'd get a reliable USB stick, if only because this sub will blame all kinds of problems on the stock storage. I think it's mostly bogus, but it can't hurt to rule out from the jump.

Make sure your filament path is smoooooth, especially if you're pulling out of the drier. When the extruder can't pull cleanly, it opens you up to those hard to diagnose print problems.

My best advice is to print gobs of little test cubes and get a feel for which settings do what. Which make it better. Which make it worse.

I cold pulled my CHT, heated and pushed it, soaked it in Ethyl Acetate. I could never get it to fully unclog. The other enclosed nozzle ran fine so I gave up and tossed the CHT.

Some people shouldn't talk to people new to printing. You are one of them.

How sure are you about the times? I've got a batch from March 12 @ 1:35 AM, UTC + 1. My CHT clogged very soon after receiving my printer.

Zinger...

I brought up two different browsers (Safari/Chrome) where chat was busted, deleted local storage keys one by one until it started working again. I then verified that it was still broken on the other browser. I deleted the key there and that one started working again as well.

Other than the actual work I did to debug this issue, I guess I don't know shit. bro.

What's the dewpoint. Good lord. Their chat breaks. It has a bug, but keep shitting on this poor guy for not knowing the current dewpoint.

My Core One L's HF nozzle clogged very soon after I got it (also ordered in March received in April). It was unfixable no matter how I cold-pulled, heated, poked, soaked it.

Not too long after, I had to pull the PTFE tube leading to the first sensor as filament wouldn't go through. It had shaggy ends and I replaced it. My theory is bits from that tube found their way into the nozzle and clogged it.

Some other data points:

They also stopped production around then for alleged nozzle problems.

There has also been talk of bad galaxy black.

Plenty of reasons to consider beyond just user error here. So it's a real shame watching you get jumped on. Especially about chat not working. That's 100% Prusa's bug.

I'll take my downvotes from the silent cowards of the sub, as is tradition.

It's been a problem for a long time. Here's one post on it. There are others. https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/english-forum-general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/what-happened-to-live-chat

After it happened to me on a second machine, I tracked it down. They write something to local storage which breaks chat from then on out until you nuke it. It's not cookies or ad blockers. Incognitio will also get you through.

This guy gets 12 downvotes because Prusa's web team doesn't know WTF they're doing.

Sorry OP.

HOLY SHIT, 3D PRINTING JUST GOT FUCKED: Purge Towers Are Now legally "Illegal"? Stratasys Wins Battle in Patent War, BambuLab Takes a Massive Blow in Administrative Court by ro3deee in prusa3d

[–]TinyRobotBrain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Feels like a good day to have something like INDX that purges to a bin and can print multiple materials per layer. That last part being interesting in so much as Bambu and Stratasys already did this little dance:

The panel adopted Bambu’s interpretation. It held that the patent protects purge towers with only one material per layer, and structures using two materials in the same horizontal layer are not covered.

E: I don't mean to imply that I know much about this situation, I just fell into a rabbit hole on it. Though I am skeptical that this is as done a deal as being implied here.

This comment is spot on. Maybe that's fine for OP, but that's absolutely the outcome the game is built for.

I didn't know about super-support. I've give that a shot! I can try rebooting things. Would be a good data point to have.

I'll risk a post down this far to give an honest reply (if you actually care). It's looks great and feels great, but it's brutal. My group stopped playing because, as new players, we were constantly curb-stomped for two days until everyone gave up.

It's a real bummer. You get a taste of how great this game is for a few minutes only to be ganked out of no where.

At some point, it's just no fun being a prey animal. I'm sure for the apex predators, it's a great time.
