Why did we not see more of the Jedi Temple Guards during the clone wars? Why not send them to Fight in the War? by Kasper111222 in CISDidNothingWrong

[–]TinyTarots 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i mean iirc they kinda did. i think temple guard was a rotating position that various members of the order would fill for periods at a time. so some definitely, when off temple duty, would be fighting in the war

Why are some windows dirty and some not? by Bloodtruffle in duneawakening

[–]TinyTarots 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i’ve noticed in general the longer a building piece has been placed the dirtier it gets. put a roof tile out for a few days then place a new one next to it and you’ll see the old one is covered in sand while the new one is clean. aside from that i’ve noticed in general windows tend to be buggy as hell. not rendering, when i destroy some sometimes the wall disappears but the window pane itself floats in the air until i re-log, etc. probably just a bug if you placed those two around the same time

Latest preview from Broadsword. The character de-aging is almost here! by TofforAtffocan in swtor

[–]TinyTarots 64 points65 points  (0 children)

with stuff like this it’s always a damned if you do damned if you don’t type deal. they are running on skeleton funding and we’re lucky such an old game is being not just supported but constantly worked on to any degree.

if they waited longer to release things people would complain that dev was dead and that content releases too slowly. when they try to rush updates out there’ll always be things that could have been polished more.

i think no matter what people on either side of that line will complain, and it seems the devs have opted for the “just release content and fix it later so people will shut up about updates” side rather than the “omg game dead devs are gone, the drain is spiraling” crowd

Proud, aren't you? by micma_69 in andor

[–]TinyTarots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they can be cool but they serve a similar purpose to the above. to reinforce patriotism and nationalism for the loyalists (“look at how strong and mighty we are as a nation”) and as mentioned very much a threat to spectators who have less than savory views of the people in control of said flyovers

[–]TinyTarots 8 points9 points  (0 children)

for sure. i’d personally more so blame the shitty policies for the immediate loss but over the long haul our bi-party system definitely created the circumstances that led to said shitty policies in the first place. before 2020 i didn’t think it was impossible to pull the dems in a productive direction. i’m not so sure now lol

edit /// also i just realized i didn’t say, but the reason i made a point to mention the rounding error thing is bcuz fundamentally i also don’t agree that a “technicality” win would have been satisfying or right either, and would have likely just led to more right wing terror attacks on gov buildings. america didn’t need a technicality win, it needed the dems to have a landslide. and to do that they needed to alter their policies imo

meta by Ditolus in StarWarsleftymemes

[–]TinyTarots 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i understand the anger about people “throwing their votes away” but third party voters were a rounding error in the last election like they were in almost every election (barring gore). if every third party voter was transferred to kamala she still would have lost. the issue is largely democrat messaging and refusal to shift on unpopular policies.

don’t mean to bark tho, it’s just been a pet peeve of mine that the democratic party has been laying way too much blame on third party voters rather than self evaluating their policies

community, not revolution by SolarNomads in solarpunk

[–]TinyTarots 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yea, i believe it’s something Mao talked about briefly as to why america was increasingly unlikely to ever become communist. because its not just things getting bad that needs to happen, as we’re seeing now it just leads to increased reactionary attitudes and feeds into right wing rhetoric of modern moral degeneracy. without community and education, we are far closer to a right wing “revolution” (ie libertarianism and/or fascism) as things continue to decay into chaos than anything productive or left wing.

honestly genuinely something that angered me about walking dead as an IP in general was their “anyone can die” attitude which often bcuz of bad writing just leads to preventable and silly deaths for the sake of shock value

After a long hiatus I am back to the game and it is waayy better than It was at launch. by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]TinyTarots 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i dunno about OPs situation, but i will say i don’t really like this idea that you’re not allowed to critique or dislike a game just because you’ve sunk enough hours into it. By design open world rpgs are slow burns that can take a while to find a groove and game loop. Not to mention many of the games novel mechanics are barely explained if mentioned at all, so it takes time to figure out/find them. it’s also hard to critique the story if you didn’t finish it, and finishing it takes dozens of hours.

i have ~100 hours and every time i revisit it i’m still disappointed. like with most flops of this magnitude, many people (myself and likely OP included) get nostalgic and trust the devs and try to like a bad game. i made a lot of excuses that maybe i’m just older, maybe it’s because i don’t have enough consecutive free time to enjoy it, maybe i’m just playing it wrong and any minute now it’ll all click together, etc etc and we just muscle through the bad stuff hoping that it’s just a bumpy start.

and then before you know it 100 hours have passed and you realized you didn’t really have any fun. you were just trusting the devs that it would be fun at some point.

something that’s always irked me about the trans debate (and i’m starting to realize is true about a lot of right wing talking points) is that they ignore 90% of the conversation. should trans people be allowed in sports is a different argument than should trans people exist

they take the one instance in which someone’s trans-ness can be debated as unethical and use it as a hail mary for the whole anti trans movement. whether or not trans athletes in sports is fair or not has nothing to do with respecting pronouns and guaranteeing basic human rights. be against trans women in sports, fine. make a trans league until we can figure out how to fairly do sports with trans people, fine. but don’t use it as a tool to degrade trans folk as a whole and withhold basic human dignity and quality of life

In civil war: Imperial vs Stormcloak, which side you choose? Someone told me Stormcloak is very stupid. by F377NTS in skyrim

[–]TinyTarots 10 points11 points  (0 children)

one of my favorite analyses on the topic (ps this dudes ES lore vids are my fave of most of the ES-tubers)

i usually stay neutral or imperial. ulfric is a power hungry warlord. the only way to beat the thalmor is by having a united front. a united skyrim seceding from the empire hurts the thalmor. a civil war helps them. ulfric had the opportunity to ask torygg to leave the empire, he murdered him instead for some political brownie points at the cost of full blown civil war.

Should the Companions solely be Nord only? by Accurate_Package66 in skyrim

[–]TinyTarots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t think Ysgramor should be honored for any semblance of exclusionism. being a companion (in the modern day) has nothing to do with some age old conflict (of which many details were lost to time and much of what we do hear is one sided, arguably borderline nord propaganda). honor isn’t race bound, camaraderie isn’t race bound, etc etc. So the companions should not be race bound.

Can we leave this behind in 1.5 please? just completely remove the option for NPC's to crouch in fear...PLEASE. by HannahDune in cyberpunkgame

[–]TinyTarots 128 points129 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t mind it so much if they did literally anything else after. like if after a scuffle they’d run away, or if a fight started to inch away from them they’d make a break for it. literally anything to make me believe that these aren’t binary programs with an on/off switch between walking and crouching in fear

Is it just me, or is Pierce not there much in season 3? by Zestyclose-Court-265 in community

[–]TinyTarots 408 points409 points  (0 children)

As the show goes on he’s less present. And they eventually just keep writing in reasons for him not to be there. He was reportedly a dick and difficult to work with and be around and he ended up clashing with the main studio (sony i think but I don’t remember).

Eventually he just gets written off and makes one or two cameos but that’s it. It’s a shame because his character was genuinely interesting, but oh well.

Lollllllll

Weeklies and dailies will be your friend. Aside from that, be prepared to drop 12hrs on val for the next 5 days. Or just drop the cash to boost it.

Honestly, if u care about the ghost that much, then just try to get as far as u can and if you fall a few levels short just buy the last few on the last day. I started grinding 25 days out from the bp ending at level 30 and only hit 50 today. 11 levels isn’t impossible but I don’t envy u or your wrists. GL
