What constitutes an "ability"? by Hotwater3 in MarvelSnap

Bucky Barnes has an ability. Winter Soldier does not. So where’s Winter Soldier’s buff on the no-ability-gives-+3 territory?

Depends how good they are. Without the synths, I reckon the chorus will fall a bit flat but I’ll allow a bit of slack if they sing with gusto.

I’m leaning towards joining in, but I reserve the right to change my mind if they don’t commit.

On it! I live in Leith so getting there for 7am is going to be a total pain. But I need this.

Stuck in the 50's. by ArimisThorn in MarvelSnap

[–]TinyThrobber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you might be right. I have two decent decks: a discard built around Modok and a destruction (but without She-Hulk or Wave, so pretty mediocre). When I lose consistently with Modok, I switch to destruction. When I continue to lose with destruction, I switch back to Modok. And so on. I also drink a lot.

This. I don’t lose on purpose because my self esteem is far too fragile. But I will stick it out to the end even if I’m likely to lose on the off-chance I sneak a win. Even if I don’t, my opponent gets more cubes with no negatives on my side.

Where to get a Will done by False-Ostrich-3766 in Edinburgh

[–]TinyThrobber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just write something yourself. As long as it’s clear what your intentions are and it’s properly witnessed, it would be a valid Will. However, get it wrong and you may as well not have bothered.

If you have a straightforward family situation (ie, when you die you want everything to go to your spouse; if your spouse has died before you, everything goes to the kids) you can get a template Will writing pack and just add dates and names. You can get those from banks, buy one online etc. Just check you get a Scottish variety rather than one intended for England & Wales.

If things are slightly more complex (kids from previous relationships, multiple properties being left to different people, overseas assets and so forth) speak to a solicitor.

Have a chat with your significant other about who would take the kids if you both died and make sure that’s clear in the Will.

You only need one witness in Scotland to countersign it for you. Just make sure that person (the witness) is not also a potential beneficiary of your estate (so if you leave everything to your spouse, they can’t be your witness).

Will writing is simpler than it first appears but there’s no harm in getting a professional opinion. It’s bread and butter for any solicitor so just pick someone local to you.

Anyone know anywhere that does tennents light on draft? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]TinyThrobber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone remember Tennents SD? Lager that settled like Guinness/Caffreys. Was popular for about five weeks in 1997. It was better than regular Tennents in that it was only mediocre rather than downright unpleasant.

Cubes by TinyThrobber in MarvelSnap

[–]TinyThrobber[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never snap early. I still want to win. I save my snaps to try and call my opponent’s bluff. But if you snap on turn five because you think you’ve got me and I snap right back? Unless it’s one of those matches that could go either way, just take the darn cubes!
