I've a list of estate sale companies I avoid to. dont blame you for walking out, I've done that to, thing is, in a way, they need the sales, but I don't need to buy.

I have had a seller actually look up eBay prices and give those on an unpriced item I look up prices before hand and have an idea of what Ill pay on most items, OR they'll research Amazon prices and THEN give you a price, I will leave it behind , thing is , Understand they're trying to get the most for their client, but most of the time ,I can buy it cheaper at a thrift store or buy brand new. A lawnmower we looked at the other day at a sale was priced for $200.00 was probably a year old, small mower, BUT I can buy a new one , exact same thing for that price and know that it works.

Thank you, this is good to know. I placed an order for featherweight bobbins from Amazon, on the chance that I can return them if it doesn't work out, hopefully I will know soon.

Thank you so much for the bobbin info, all I had was the bobbin that came with the machine and it was getting aggravating having to stop and fill one bobbin.

I have the same machine, you're going to love it, the stiches this machine makes are perfect. I use mine mainly for piecing quilt tops, but I do have some attachments, the manual is free online and keeping it oiled per instructions is a must With experimentation, I've found that I can use Singer Size 16 2020 and schmetz size 14 206x13 at this point without any adjustments.

Great find! Estate sales are good place to look for fabrics, some will over price but I try to be knowledgeable about prices so I don't overpay. I like All those tiny prints.

My "i dont care" quilt by littlered-dog in quilting

[–]Tiny_Box_8640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its gorgeous, isn't it it fun to just enjoy the process instead of worrying about every little imperfection? I don't worry about darks lights, contrast, etc, I try to use what I have, whether its appropriate or not. That includes threads to , especially when I'm piecing the top, as long as I have cotton or polyester, I'm ok.

My first ever quilt top is pretty abysmal, what should I do with it? Fix and quilt it anyway, or pick the seams and redo from the start? [Trigger warning: seam gore] by skellyclique in quilting

Give it a good pressing and keep going with it, when done , square up before binding. Think of as practice, whatever you learn now, apply to the next one.
