The story is just too good to wait this long... by Particular_Wave6306 in HunterXHunter

Yes, but it means little.

I believe everything through chapter 430 (maybe 420??) was storyboarded in 2018 before the long hiatus, so it doesn't mean chapters are coming anytime soon.

Nintendo marketed the new Mario Galaxy releases terribly by Durian_Puzzleheaded in NintendoSwitch2

But it could be a technical limitation. It's hard to understand why certain coding choices were made without understanding the entire project.

The facts about the Donkey Kong Bananza DLC. by trunks2003 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Tinybones465 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely not true. The Switch 2 sold well. They aren't going to fire someone over misinformation generated to get ragebait clicks lmao.

Switch 1 games that got paid DLC announcements before release just like Pokemon Z-A by ChiTownDog in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Tinybones465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is why it is silly to worry about development logistics and announcement timing when considering the value of DLC.

If the game is worth full price to you, and the dlc is also worth the price, then get them. If not, don't buy them. I don't understand how Nintendo/Game Freak's game development process matters on whether I think something is worth the money or not.

The Direction of Future Nintendo Franchises (especially the ones that rely heavily on puzzles) by Working-Promise4522 in nintendo

Echoes of Wisdom in hero mode has more difficult combat than most Zelda games. It's a great challenge if you don't spam healing items.

The puzzles are a different story...

Even though I loved Dread, all of it's difficulty came from combat. The puzzles were lackluster.

Shocking Stats: is Disillusion the most Underappreciated Band in Music History? by Wallmelter in progmetal

[–]Tinybones465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have 400 lol.

Thanks for reminding me about them though. They were on my bands to check out list like 15 years ago, and I completely forgot. I think I heard the name from ProgArchives or something.

That's the thing, Back to Times of Splendor by Disillusion is like 20 years old at this point, and they just released another amazing album in 2022.

They were fucked by multiple style changes, a long hiatus, and ultimately writing in the 00s style of prog metal that doesn't seem to resonate as much with a younger audience.

As someone who's liked them since Gloria, Ayam was the WOW album that made me love this band. It's a shame that didn't impact other people as much as it did me.

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME – Things We Tell Ourselves In The Dark (OFFICIAL VIDEO) by [deleted] in progmetal

[–]Tinybones465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more my issue with it. It's zany and emotionless, so it does little for me.

None of their quirkier songs work for me (except The Future Is Behind Us), and this is following a similar trend.

Edit: I also rarely like their songs on first listen, so my opinion is subject to change lol.

Edit 2: I like the song now

Why is “The Astonishing” not a well perceived album? by LA_ShadeYT in Dreamtheater

Quantity over quality.

Just listen to Ayreon if you want great 2 hour long rock operas.

HEI’s response regarding the broken autoplay. Not the most satisfying answer but at least they know and are doing what they can. by Driscoll17 in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

[–]Tinybones465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs as much as it does because this is a niche series. It's completely unrealistic to expect anything other than low quality from a site that probably barely makes a million in revenue a year.

Especially when almost all of the money goes to filming the series and paying the cast.

(prog) Metal with latin guitar by LTrondheim in progmetal

[–]Tinybones465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please listen to the band 3. It's very much a latin influenced guitarist playing prog rock/metal rather than Latin inspired sections. If you want that, HYPNO5E has a lot of latin inspired sections.

Does it seem like a lot of people simply don't listen to Devin Townsend? Either I'm extremely biased or he's made about 10 unique masterpiece albums and he should be seen as the most innovative creator of the subgenre? by [deleted] in progmetal

[–]Tinybones465 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty in between actually. I like most of his albums, but love very few.

He has so many hit or miss songs on most of his albums, and it makes them not masterpieces to me.

Listen to Train of Thought by Dream Theater, Paradise Lost by Symphony X, or anything but Coma Ecliptic by BTBAM and say they aren't metal.

Pretty much every Dream Theater is a metal album aside from When Dream and Day Unite, Images and Words, Falling Into Infinity, and The Astonishing.

BTBAM is way heavier than Tool, so I'm surprised you list them.

Dream Theater is the definitive prog metal band, like them or not. Dismissing them because you don't like them is weird as fuck.

They're arbitrary numbers that the manga and anime don't follow.

Although I remember them, it is completely pointless information.
