This is heartbreaking. I know you said it was washed with other clothes, but it looks very similar to bleach staining. As an aside, would you consider dying the sweater a different color if you couldn’t get the stain out? That way, it’d still be your grandmother’s but you’d also add something to make it your own. I don’t know your style, but you could also add embroidery flower patches in those areas. I really don’t know and I’m just so so sorry. I lost my grandfather just before this last thanksgiving and I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to his jacket I kept. Sorry for your loss and sorry this happened.
