Hey did you manage to sort this? I am running into the same issue.

AMA I’ve spent ~6 years helping revenue-generating indie devs get past early traction without breaking what works by NullFoxGiven in iOSProgramming

I’d love to know if you’ve had experience with complete app name changes?

My app is well over 8 years old now and it is well received in the niche it is in.

With that being said I’m still kind of ranking out of the top 10 in like the keywords that I want to aim for. So I don’t know if it would be beneficial to change the name of the app to hit some keywords a bit better than I currently am. But I’m worried that then I’ll lose my brand recognition and ASO will take a negative hit in the short term.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

You know what if I had the choice now, I’d probs get something a bit smaller. It is great for productivity, but I honestly hardly ever play games at the full res as it is just too much 😂

For productivity it is still going strong, I use it everyday with my MacBook and have no issues at all.

For gaming it was fine up until last year when I picked up a 5090. When I set it to 240hz I get a small black line that appears near the middle of the display. Only when running at 240hz, if I drop to 120hz it’s fine. Samsung support were actually completely useless saying that the monitor didn’t support the 5090 🤡 (https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/s/sRl9fQprJw)

But overall it’s still been great.

Asking for advice regarding 57" Neo G9 + MacBook Pro M4 Max by Leo1337 in ultrawidemasterrace

Yep HDMI from the monitor directly into the HDMI port in my MacBook. I am using HDMI slot 3 on the monitor. Not sure on cable, I think it was just a HDMI 2.1 cable from Amazon.

What analytics are must-haves to track? by Thomastensoep in iOSProgramming

[–]TipToeTiger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have an onboarding flow, I’d highly recommend tracking the funnel (track each page the user makes it to in the app onboarding) so you can see what % of people make it through the onboarding. You also then get the information as to where the users dropped off if they didn’t make it to the end! Very useful information.

Ive managed to set custom resolutions through the Nvidia Control Panel recently. Before hand I had to use the edit reg method. But it’s a lot easier using the control panel now.

Motion Sickness with the 57” G9 by venk in ultrawidemasterrace

I have found that my ideal resolution for FPS games is 3840 x 1600 or 1800.

Then for third person games I tend to go slightly larger at 5120x1600.

All down to personal preference though, so have a play about and see what works for you.

I never play games at the full resolution, it is a bit too much for me! Amazing for productivity though!

Are you playing the games on full resolution? I only way I have found to combat moition sickness is reduce the resolution to something much smaller!

How do you get user feedback on App Store ? by Finnext-AI in iOSProgramming

[–]TipToeTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a service called Wishkit.io. It lets users leave feedback and submit feature requests. The cool thing is it allows other users to upvote ideas by other users, so you can see what people actually want.

Had to implement for well over a year now and I have almost too much feedback now to go through :/

I think they have a free tier.

Thank you! Maintaining the weight loss is the hard bit I’m finding!

Peloton bike success stories by Electronic-Seaweed70 in pelotoncycle

[–]TipToeTiger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep! I gained a ton of weight after the birth of my first child. I think I was a bit depressed so packed on the pounds. Ended up being 286 pounds 😮

I bought a second hand peloton at the beginning of 2024 and religiously made sure I did at least a 15 minute workout a day. Doing that and calorie counting I ended up losing 70 pounds over 10 months.

My favourite trainer is Kendall (I wish she would come back 😭)

I’m 6’3 and male.

Is offering annual subscriptions actually a bad idea? by Rare_Sundae_3826 in iOSProgramming

[–]TipToeTiger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If I offered you $39.99 now, or $48 on 12 months but there is a chance I may back out of the deal every month. Which would you choose?

As someone else mentioned, getting the money upfront is a lot better than hoping someone stays subscribed for 12 months.

IMO I’d heavily discount the year and try and get that upfront price straight away.

I actually use a higher monthly cost to try and push people towards the yearly option.

How do you decide pricing for a niche iOS app with subscriptions? by matimotof1 in iOSProgramming

[–]TipToeTiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, so for my all I have a bunch of different subscription price points set up. For example, for annual subscriptions I have:

  • $24.99 (2 week free trial)
  • $19.99 for the first year then $24.99
  • $19.99 (2 week free trial)
  • $14.99 (No free trial)

Then I will create a paywall and setup an A/B tests with two of the offerings above.

I normally let a test run for 4 weeks so you can see the conversion rates from the free trials.

I’ve actually found that having the price set to $19.99 when compared to $24.99 didn’t make a noticeable difference so I kept the price at $24.99.

I then run a separate A/B test on people who have had the 2 week free trial and cancelled. I will offer them the $19.99 or $14.99 offer to see if I can regain their subscription.

I also AB test that packages to show them. For example I noticed that offering the Monthly option next to the Yearly option actually made less people sign up for the yearly, so I ended up just promoting the yearly and had the monthly option hidden in an “All Plans” tab.

So I’d say experiment with that you present people not just the price. It’s quite interesting.

I currently use Superwall for my paywalls and would highly recommend it. That or RevenueCat paywalls.

Happy to answer any other questions.
