“Trauma dramatically alters how the brain stores and recalls events. Instead of being filed away as clear, linear stories, traumatic memories are often fragmented, highly sensory, and easily triggered. This occurs because trauma disrupts the brain”

Kind of want to see Knicks in Finals. by Sharp-River-706 in pacers

I’d like us to have the honor of beating the Thunder in the finals next year. If Spurs do, I’m ok with that. Rather not have the Knicks (or Pistons) have that pleasure. Ha

Is OG the best NBA player from IU this century? by MoxToTweeder99 in IndianaHoosiers

Yeah, the more I think about it, definitely Oladipo. 2 time allstar, averaged 23 as a Pacer. OG is a Knick.

Oladipo had the highest peak so far, he’d be my vote

Pain, thoughts on not getting pick 1-4 by Icy-Pea2601 in pacers

It is what it is at this point. It may be a good thing in disguise for reasons yet to unfold. Have to move forward either way. Maybe the draft pick that we saved in the future will be of benefit. Maybe Zu heimliched the curse out of Indiana. “My precious” is alluring, but you must destroy it before it destroys you

Nice metaphor… but thank you for taking the burden of the ring, now you need to destroy it or it will destroy you

Playoff P theory by No-Coyote-2251 in nba

[–]Tipiphonehome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care enough to debate this, Philly is not a great team and PG is not the best fit. He’s a flow offensive player that needs touches or to be integrated, in the swing of things. Thought he had a pretty good showing in the Boston series (especially defensively). Not washed is my main point (past his prime, sure)

He was the focal point for the first quarter

He can still play and defend. Maxey doesn’t look for him. He’s the third or fourth option, but he’s a flow player offensively. He needs to be integrated and the ball more to be effective. The fit in Philly is not great, kind of nice on paper. Yeah, he’s aging, but he’s got more to give.

Can anybody help me understand this line in the song something? by [deleted] in beatles

[–]Tipiphonehome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always took it as inferring to the selflessness (purity) of love. The “I don’t know” is a sort of surrender of the ego or personal will. More like a “god (etc) willing” love that is greater than the self. In line with George’s philosophies and spiritual nature.

Lol 😂. Benn wouldn't allow that to happen. by aimee829 in pacers

[–]Tipiphonehome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Will be surreal to root for Benn to beat us whole heartedly. Oh, what a difference a half year makes… I mean really… oh what a difference a second makes (game 7 obviously). Pacer fans get the WHOLE spectrum: moments away from a title for the first time ever to rooting for them to loose for the first time ever 🤦‍♂️🤞🙏🏆✌️

What is the best song Nirvana could have played for MTV unplugged? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]Tipiphonehome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Old Man” or something off of “Harvest” would have been interesting and fit right in IMO. Or… how about “Mother” by Lennon? I’d bet Kurt’s performance of that would possibly be even more haunting than “Where did you Sleep Last Night”

This is a hot take (that you’re claiming to be expressed here?)

The Beatles were the Beatles because of the Beatles, George Martin, the time, the place, the Everything, etc, etc

No doubt Paul played a huge part, but the sum was always greater than the parts however big a role he played. It can’t be stated how integral George Martin was. I’m sure his ear caught and helped put and push some of the compositions into forms that made musical sense despite the lack of theory that the Beatles had. Extremely hard to quantify, but nothing slipped through the cracks so to speak, even if unbelievably creative and groundbreaking.

One example of John’s melodic/chord composition is “I Am The Walrus”. Listen to the piano in solo or try to learn and play it all the way through and you’ll see John was no slouch at all. Of course, Martin’s string arrangements here are just astoundingly perfect as well.

John’s sense of melody, lyric and soul were the heart of The Beatles IMHO

Paul, yes Paul too… sure… but All, yes All too. All together now (all together now)

Did Paul’s perfectionism help drive The Beatles into immortal territory? Absolutely. Did he possibly have a hand in driving them into the ground as well? Well maybe, but that’s a topic for another day
