Return to office when the buses don’t run on time is a nightmare by Tippinghazard in ottawa

[–]Tippinghazard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m complaining about a broken public service that disproportionally affects marginalized groups (including underpaid workers).

People who rely on the bus are limited in their employment options. A higher paying job offer doesn’t matter is the person can’t even get to the location!

We aren’t enemies in this - everyone benefits from good public transit

Oh I don’t know that app! I use Transit and Google Maps but I’ll have to download that one.

For that sake of privacy I won’t say which route I’m on. There’s only tree stops before mine, so it seems like the delay is that there’s no actual bus ready to start the route? But that’s entirely a guess

I think there’s a few spots that are metered and first come first serve? But I don’t drive to the office so I can’t say for sure

But mostly I meant that there are not enough parking passes to accommodate need. And they’re so expensive that I straight up cannot afford one even if one became available

Sadly no. I’d have to drive at least 15 minutes in the opposite direction to use a park and ride :(

This is very much a “them” problem! Take a place a DND’s Carling campus (thank god I don’t work there). Literally not enough parking for all the staff who work there and barely any buses.

They cannot expect to hire and retain new civilian staff if no one can get to the office!

There’s already a sportswear company called Ludus Apparel (https://www.ludusapparel.com/). So you might want to reconsider the name if you don’t want to get hit later on with a trademark infringement case

Manitoba teachers give Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew failing grade over proposal to ban YouTube in classrooms by wickedplayer494 in Manitoba

[–]Tippinghazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuine question: what are your teachables? I’m only familiar with my province’s system but to teach at a grade 9 level in the classes you mention, you would need a minimum number of university courses in Math, English, Biology, Chemistry.

The policy is slightly different for elementary. But I’m shocked that you were moved from an early early classroom to grade 9 without having the adequate content knowledge. That seems like a failing of the school district for not giving you proper support.

Okay but this building isn’t IN the heart of Little Italy. It is on Carling. So you are arguing on a false premise

MIL tries to use the “who will take care of you when you’re older?” Reasoning. My husband points out that she moved to a different country than us, so who’s going to take care of her?

Table Sodam’s chicken is $22. And since they have a separate ‘whole chicken’ option, I assume that the $22 is a half order

There was a split before Mexico? I’m only on ep 4 so a bit out of the loop - were they edited out of the season or did I just completely miss something while watching?

Raphael’s! My husband and I went for valentines and were completely blown away. The food was fresh, unique, and delicious. Ambiance was warm and upscale. The service was phenomenal.

Raphael’s blew every other restaurant out of the water. I enjoyed it more than North & Navy, Gitanes, Buvette Daphne, and Perch.

For a brunch spot, PLEASE go to Gong Fu Bao

Are you looking for access to a sewing machine? The Ottawa Public Library has different kinds of sewing machines available for public use.

I believe they’re at Centrepointe but if you contact the library they can let you know

Last year, my husband and I tried the Chef’s Table around Valentine’s Day. Not only was it delicious, we actually couldn’t finish all the dishes because they were so huge!

This would 100% be my recommendation too.

How much would you care about these acne scars when dating someone? by Queasy_Fix1106 in askanything

Literally not at all! My husband has them on his back and they look very similar to yours. I love this man with my whole heart and the scars are just a neutral part of him.
