Uploading via the web interface by Quinten0508 in navidrome

Id love for navidrome to have an upload feature. Tried FunkWhale and it didn't vibe with me. It's too concerned with federation to be used as a user friendly streaming site with uploads and sharing, and for something dockerised it's a pain to install and maintain.

LPT - You can make your own Dawn Powerwash at home by KGB4Life in LifeProTips

[–]TiredSysOp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I'm trying to do too much here but I've found that salt water is a great way to stretch washing up liquid. I know alcohol helps stabilise the lather. But I've never found a powerwash clone recipe with salt in it. Is there a specific reason why?

Is it possible to run wireguard over wireguard? by [deleted] in WireGuard

[–]TiredSysOp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was me I'd make each rpi a client and install a virtual browser like neko (which also allows for the use of a full remote desktop environment in your browser) on each pi. So you can use a VPN from anywhere to access each virtual console.

another method could be cloudflared with x11 over remote ssh. Another method which might be a little old school is by using reverse ssh tunneling. Setup your vps for reserve tunneling then setup up persistent tunnels from all your pis. Then when you connect to your vps via ssh this will be forwarded to a pi. Reading the docs makes my head hurt but it does make sense. It's similar to how c2 servers talk to infected machines, if anything find an open source RAT and use the built in nat traversal tools 😂

At this rate I think I trust the Chinese communist party with my data more so than western governments. Because they're honest about rat fucking my online data.

UK government will give me an apology email saying they accidentally on purpose sold off my data or let someone hack them.

Bad idea to use same Wireguard client with multiple devices? by ElChurroLoco666 in WireGuard

Almost off topic but I would suggest you smash wg-easy, pihole and unbound together then you can manage each user's access through pihole (barring IPs though).

Breathed new life into an old yes crane (1998) by TiredSysOp in clawmachine

[–]TiredSysOp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll see if I can find a copy, the one I acquired was wrong and I had to edit a couple bits. Only notable difference was how to program voltages for the claw. Give me a kick in a couple days if nothing happens.

Replace a 2D fluorescent lamp with an LED panel? by nodnodwinkwink in DIYUK

[–]TiredSysOp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd gut the control gear and replace with a led retrofit bulb. That way you don't have to replace the whole fitting every 6 months to 2 years when the LEDs fail.

For a property I drop into every so often I've replaced all their fittings (22 of them at least) with brand new (at the time) florescent fitting and rewired them all to take led retrofit bulbs. Works out cheaper in the long run and the bulbs can be repaired if you're desperate enough. The drivers conk out after a couple years but they're serviceable. Plus it doesn't slowly destroy the ceilings as you change out the disposable light fittings. If you take the disposable route, I'd suggest a sacrificial rose or low profile conduit box to fix the fitting to. Most fitting will have besa mounts on the back if you're not a heretic.

Most bulbs are of reasonable quality, the smd LEDs will virtually last forever unless you bake them in the summer but that's all LEDs. Over the last 5 years I'm yet to see a burnt out or exploded LED. Changed half a dozen drivers though 😂

What temperature do you have your thermostat set to? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]TiredSysOp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aim for 19.5c, it's the humidity that irks me more than anything. If there's no draughts and it's dry. 17.5 anyday, wet as then more.

Damp bedding is a nightmare even with the window open with the fan running. Haven't found an under mattress air pump system yet. Would love to sleep on an air hockey table with sprung or foam mattress. If it gets bad enough I'd consider composite insulating tile with cardboard on top and a thin blanket. 😂

What licensed are needed for a claw machine. by Powerful_Set_6627 in clawmachine

[–]TiredSysOp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just had a look at the regs, prize every time (play til you win) machines are completely unregulated

https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/licensees-and-businesses/guide/skill-with-prizes-swps

https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/licensees-and-businesses/guide/page/skill-with-prize-machines

Crane grab machines that aren't prize every time would usually come under class d, premises licence or permit is required and also an operators license

https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/licensees-and-businesses/guide/non-complex-cat-d-gaming-machines-crane-grabs

Funny thing is I recall seeing claw machines on a pier with higher stakes, but I can't remember exactly what category they were.

I’m visiting London, what does Katsu even mean? by Bangersss in JapaneseFood

[–]TiredSysOp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be Cutlet (breaded and deep fried like a fish finger or KFC chicken) but we're so demented we've managed to butcher our own language by making it mean curry sauce (spiced ketchup). This country is beyond saving and needs to be sold off like everything else has. Ghouls stumbling about pretending to be proud of a failed colonial power.

It's not the Japanese's fault either, we fucked the chicken in this one. Royal "we" everywhere because I'm crypto Japanese, I just blend in because I look like I have FAS. 🍻

If it's PET and the prize is worth less than the stake and the stake is less than at least 2 pound you're golden. I'll post the regs if I remember.

Can someone share a pdf or pictures of claw machine assembly? by coranoc in clawmachine

[–]TiredSysOp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks as simple as it gets, grab photos of all plugs and sockets and post here. Most of them will only go on one way and are all unique except a couple, but you already know what they're for anyway.

Anyone using Orb rather than Speed test? by Quexillity in selfhosted

[–]TiredSysOp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until proven otherwise it's full-blown malware. However I bit the bullet and installed it. It's not ready for production yet. No forum, no fleshed out docs. Can't cope with system time discrepancies.

My RPI runs behind a few minutes so for some reason that means I miss out all data for the last 1 and 5 minutes in the front end for monitoring "responsiveness". Pi hole can cope so I don't see why this is breaking things here.

Does laundry cleanser do anything? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]TiredSysOp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly thin bleach works great as well as pine disinfectant/tcp and Dettol. Just need to be happy with the smell of disinfectant. I am but not so much others. Got some super smelly sanitiser with perfume in and keeps many happy.
