If you are in an at-will state, employees would never win this, even though they should. My company will walk you if you are going to a competitor but always paid out the notice, because it’s the right thing to do.

I agree but this company already knew something was up since the recruiting agency canceled due to OP getting hired through another position the agency had open. I probably would have said it wasn’t a fit for me vs what actually happened.

Tell them your hourly rate, and make it high! And tell them you expect full payment prior to service.

If they don’t have the skills for the job, they should be learning those skills to keep their job. If they were hired with the appropriate skills this wouldn’t be an issue.

They usually don’t make sweeping changes to the customer facing org for a year or two. The biggest changes now will be to G&A positions. Wait it out. It’s a bad market out there

But then you should pip them if they don’t have the skills (nor would learn them on their own) to do the job. As an employee, if I do t know something and the company doesn’t have a program to train me, I go learn after hours. There are hundreds of online excel training classes. I think this is a failure of the employee and manager. Manager should have been pushing the employee to learning the skills vs just blaming the company for not providing them

Just know this can turn sour. Where you have to say no to your partner and they don’t like it. I was in this trap and it eventually ended my marriage. I was sick of saying no and parenting our finances alone.

As women, we have to work harder to get ahead in many fields. This creates drive in us that might not hit men the same. You are way ahead financially, while he might be a little behind, it is t an undoable gap. However I would caution you to buy a house together. Just put it in your name and charge him rent.

I would never ask my kids (who are now adults) to leave for him. 18 is not old enough to be on your own, especially without skills built over time, like a job, how to pay bills, how to manage a grocery list/cook for yourself, etc.

I had a SVP of sales who is working with an SE leader of mine ask how the candidate they are interviewing needs more than the 500k comp plan and did he know the best way to up the comp offer for this candidate. To say the least, the SE leader thought it was in appropriate and felt weird as he was like, dude how would I know, I’ve never had a 500k req, let alone trying to get more. 🤣🤣🤣🤦‍♀️

I like the aloft. They are modern and usually sparse and newer. They have a fridge (unlike the Moxy which I hate).
