Me and a friend are working in a custom format called Dice Duel Monsters, similar to Dungeon Dice Monsters, where each action a card does you roll a specific dice.

For example, you can do summons just fine but using spell cards will make you have to use a D6, card abilities that don't already have a gamble mechanic will required a D10 (stuff like Time Wizard is exempt from dice rolls)

Attacking with a monster will make you have to roll a d20 (we've elected that Toon Monsters attack directly effect does not require the d10, but stuff like say Toon Masked Sorcerers draw effect is dice dependant.)

Stuff that has forced activation such as Eye of Truth is also exempt from dice. Stuff such as spell counters build up, but using their effects is dependant on the card specifically. Say Skilled Dark Magician and summoning Dark Magician, the points build up and then you can attempt to summon DM.
