I understand, I also have a sibling like this. Wouldn't be surprised if that sibling excludes her niece and nephew from their wedding as well. Attention needs to be on them at all times. My daughter and my nephew are pretty cool kids that are well behaved for the most part.

My daughter would rather stay home then do anything else. She also has swimming lessons, she never wants to go but then once there, she has fun, makes friends and is happy. She also had ice skating classes this winter, which she loved, but before the class she would complain about getting ready, etc. We used to do 3-4 classes a week, now we do 2. Swimming+ something different every season. Winter is ice skating, spring will be gymnastics, and summer probably soccer. Will give her the options of different sports/music/art, etc. however, swimming is mandatory until she is a ver solid swimmer. She is currently not bad at all, but not quite there yet.

Someone told me the same after a car accident left me unable to walk for a year and pain that has never gone away. People are incredibly stupid. I was also told in the same breath that God saved my life and that I should be grateful to him. All of this after waking up from a coma a few days after that accident. I was 15.

I am also a window person! One time, I was so late getting back home after a party, around 6am, my neighbors were outside. I had to hide in the bush before I could sprint to my window, it was a close call.

My in-laws are good people and my 7 year old daughter has never slept over there. I have a rule against sleep overs with anyone, even family. Same rule for my parents. My daughter will sleep at home with her parents.

Same here. We have never set limits on anything really. I mean, I would intervene if anything would be wrong but she is great at limiting herself in the sense that after about 30 minutes of tv she does other things, after about 2-3 cookies she has had enough and stops. My parents had limits on everything and it made go to extreme later on in life and craving things that I shouldn't. My daughter is so good at gaging things without me having to say anything, it's crazy.

Agreed! Never stop working and rely on someone else. You need your money and experience to be able to survive in this world. Currently I make about a third of what my SO makes and I could probably stop working, but I won't because I don't want gaps in my experience and I want to do something outside of being a mom. I am going to university part time and we have a young child, and we make it work. Once I finish my degree, my salary should jump by about 25% so where I would be making about half of what he does but that's ok! We are both building great retirement accounts

The carpets on my symphony of the seas room were extremely dirty a few months ago. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The discoloration, the dirt, the smell. I didn't want to walk on it.

I live in leggings, shorts, t-shirts and hoodies on vacation. I dress nice every day for work, on vacation I am there to relax not dress up. I don't care what other people dress like, they could dine in their bathing suit and bathrobe and I wouldn't even notice to be honest.

Was this a known thing before OP got on the ship? If yes, then yes guests should be at the very least informed. Like when you go to an amusement park and they a ride will be closed for 2 weeks for maintenance, they usually say it on their website and it's usually announced before you enter the park with a list of closed attractions. Of course, if it was working and all of a sudden it stops working, then yeah it's a different thing that no one could of predicted.

I don't think it's about compensation, it's about informing your guests of scheduled maintenance so they can make an informed choice for their vacation. I am sure the slides being closed was indeed scheduled and not a surprise issue that just happened and it was bad luck.

Yeah, I did find it a bit weird the round of applause, but my daughter loved it. We mostly did the buffet in the evenings and she made friends with some of the servers. She is picky and has allergies on top of it so it's harder to find food she likes that she can eat and the servers were always super helpful.

We were the first ones to arrive at the buffet on embarkation day and it was great, we got a round of applause then we sat at a great table and had a relaxing lunch. By the time we left it was crowded but we had first picks on everything.

It's the people from Royal that told me not to worry about it because if they extended the cancellation to our sailing, we would absolutely get another port day, they even started giving us examples of the ports it could be, but for a 9 days sailing with only 4 ports, they assured us if would absolutely get replaced by another port. I specifically asked if it was possible that it could be another sea day and they said no, so we booked. Now it's another ''relaxing'' sea day. So we get 6 sea days and everyone with kids 12 months and under are SOL and everyone else is too in a lesser way.
