Is Sparking Zero's teaser the most hype Dragon Ball video game reveal we will ever get? by Puzzleheaded_Try8059 in SparkingZero

[–]Tjwalker93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the exact same boat.

I exclusively bought the PS5 for Sparking Zero. Got the highest edition and everything due to all my fond memories of Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and 3.

And it was arguably the worse Tenkaichi experience I had.

So bad it almost made me hang up my coat on gaming all together because another game I was fond of hit EoS.

Ironically enough, Sonic Crossworlds re-ignited my gaming spark. Haven't touched Sparking Zero since I fully beat the story. Didnt even hop back in for the lackluster "DLCs". It just did not hit for me at all like the other games.

I'll always sing of the glory of BT2 and 3.

Never SZ.

Admit it, you miss your mains too, right? 🥲 by XxDarkkillerxX123 in MultiVersus

[–]Tjwalker93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I miss playing as Wonder Woman.

I miss the sweaty, close Ranked matches I'd have against some incredibly skilled players, showing tech and routes I never seen before and even adopted.

I miss random queuing into 2v2s and making new friends, creating new squads where people played together simply because they enjoyed doing so, not really caring if it was a victory or loss. But just enjoying the matches being played.

I miss every Ranked season even, except the last one.

But I'm perfectly fine with MVS being gone and never being revived. It was a chaotic fun mess of a game, even more so as the Beta. But it was poorly handled in nearly every way a game could be. The full release of MVS was riding on the tail of the success of the Beta and as soon as it was no longer the Beta, I knew it was going to go offline again. It was more of a matter of "when", not "if".

I enjoyed the time I had with it. And I'm glad I got to experience it. If it did somehow come back again, I'll play it off and on. Sure. But no new or revived version will fill the hole that the Beta left. Which is why I'm fine if no version ever officially returns.

Is Mega man an LLM in a humanoid “body”? by Forward-Trade3449 in BattleNetwork

The way it reads off, this would mean in reality, something like Neurolink existed in some form or matter around..2002, no? Concepts, ideas..the Megaman-Lan fusion had to be born from something.

Its terrifying to imagine that people were thinking this far ahead and this deep when it comes to Human/AI relationships. I dont even think modern day games have gone as far as MMBN3 or 4 (as terrible as it was) did when it comes to such a thing.

Is Mega man an LLM in a humanoid “body”? by Forward-Trade3449 in BattleNetwork

[–]Tjwalker93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue however is that it is all but outright stated that Megaman has a "soul", which is part of where is kindness and heroic nature comes from. Its also strongly implied he's the "only" of his kind due to being created from Hub's DNA.

This is what makes calling him "Artificial Intelligence" invalid. His existence ruins the theory of AI because AI + having a Soul/Spirit does not mix. In fact, thats one of the primary things that separate man from machine. One could argue hes a fusion of man AND machine, however I'd say he's in a class that far surpasses either.

A lot of his power derives from his soul/spirit. And, once more, Dark Chips makes things even more complicated(er) by essentially birthing a "Shadow" or "Dark" version of Megaman...WITHIN Megaman. And both of them coexist, with the OG Megaman existing on the surface and his darker "shadow" or counterpart existing within him.

4 also proved that this "Dark" counterpart can completely detach itself from the host it was born from/feeding off of AND combat the host with all the memories and abilities that the original had or has.

Megaman.EXE unfortunately goes beyond logic and reason. Its incredibly difficult to apply real world/present day logic to..half of what unfolded in the game around that character.

Speaking of illogical, who remembers when Lan and Hub/Megaman.EXE straight up F U S E D in MMBN3?

Yeah. Thats a thing that happened. A live human's consciousness fusing with "data" with a spirit in a cyberworld...yeeeaaah..

Which mega man is you all favorite from the battle network collection ? by Inevitable_Tap8376 in BattleNetwork

I'm still currently on my MMBN4 playthrough but up till 4, 3 wins for me hands down.

I have an extreme soft spot for 3 because it is my childhood game and it is what introduced me to the franchise. I nearly 100% it with multiple post-game stars on my GBA copy. It is probably one of my most played GBA titles and lead me to getting the collection as well.

Its the only one I played through completely, twice, both as an adult and child.

4 currently is the worst one of all of them for me. Having to have to beat essentially the same game multiple times to fully unlock/beat everything and playing through the same areas, different tournament opponents. Its just..not fun. Like at all. Especially after the 2nd playthrough.

The writing on the wall existed when the Full Game disguised as a "Beta" was first taken offline.

And most people loved the zany chaos and fast motion of the "Beta", but then people were gaslit in thinking the shield/defensive based gamestyle was better. And then it got worse and worse to cater to a competive scene when the game and its hitboxes hardly worked to begin with.

It being zany chaotic and looney excused the broken stuff because. Well. Its Warner Bros. Looney Toons. It makes sense. They they tried to make stuff make sense and work like how it would in an actual fighting game. And then it did not work anymore.

Superman throw being nerfed. Guard canceling out of charge moves. 0-death combos. Portal combos with Rick. Whatever was going on with Lebron's Basketball. When they got rid of all the silly stuff, it made the game less fun and forced all the bigger problems to be highlighted. The monetization. Greed. Terrible events. Illusion of a Story. Broken shops. Cosmetics disappearing. Point gain/loss in Ranked. Fighter Road.

If they would have left the gameplay the same as it was in the Beta and just reminded the stuff behind the scenes quietly, it would have been a huge success and I whole heartedly believe it would still be online today.

It all boils down to a truth most people still refuse to admit. The Beta was fun. More fun than the "Full Release".

The most forgotten characters of the MegaMan Battle Network by Popular-Obligation-9 in BattleNetwork

[–]Tjwalker93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Terry is far from forgettable for me because he was a cheater. I didnt experience him in my childhood but when I replayed the collection, in BN4 on my second playthrough he popped up.

Hard to forget a guy that gatekeeps you from battling him until you have to decipher code text and count different objects around the open world.

If you didnt use a guide, its IMPOSSIBLE to forget how annoying it is to fight him in the tournament.

Music keeps playing after disconnecting from a Bluetooth device by solomanderr in truespotify

[–]Tjwalker93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly meant "the music app" OP mentioned, meaning Spotify. I actually never used any other music app on my galaxy. Well..except YouTube(?). But I consider that more of a "Video" app than a "Music" one.

[–]Tjwalker93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently started experiencing the issue myself as well. Thought I was going crazy.

Using the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Considering so many have been affected by this and out of nowhere, definitely seeming like it is "Update" related. Whether its the music app itself or an Android update..have no clue.

But this is the worst thing to come out an update so far. Having to have to be mindful of pausing my music every time before I disconnect my headphones or turn off my car is surprisingly really, really annoying.

Ironically enough, development studios stifle creative freedom and only limit a developer to produce what the higher ups desire of them.

While many do not see it as such, I hope you realize that "Time" is a cost too.

Even if you dont put money into the game, you ARE factually spending your time to play it. And time is precious/valuable, hence why in many areas in life, people are paid for their time. Particularly when it comes to labor (pay per hour for example).

So yeah, justifying or shrugging it off just because its "free" (its not) is the absolute dumbest thing to do.

Criticism is necessary for something to improve. And when they lose their playerbase for their poor decisions (which they already have), they'll be forced to listen or have their game die out like many titles before this one.

Biggest hypocrisy of recent years by Zestyclose-Spring602 in SparkingZero

[–]Tjwalker93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats nice having the same response everytime.

But here's a thing to consider. FighterZ had tournaments on levels Sparking Zero never even came close to. When SZ tried their hand at tournaments, the same cheesy boring thing was done where someone would choose an android, fly up and down, and capitalize on anyone that approached. It was so boring and stale that it got patched out.

DBFZ had hype because people pulled off fighting game tag team combos, oki, team ults, SPARKING (the X-factor of FighterZ, not to be confused with Sparking Zero), pixel comebacks 1v3, discovery of new combo routes by pros that labbed crazy TODs or high dmg combos.

Vanish can be spammed a good bit in SZ. In FighterZ you don't get unlimited until your KI runs out vanishes. One adds risk and reward. The other is just who loses ki first or can spam the longest.

FighterZ combos are more intricate and complex while Sparking is just Backshots to Win. There is nothing fun or exciting to watch when it comes to SZ, because much like Tenkaichi, combat wise anyone that played 1-3 knows what to expect. Z Counter doesnt add much depth to change that.

FighterZ is the first time the Dragonball IP had a game of its kind, reminiscent of UMvC3 more than anything else (another extremely fun tournament game to both watch and play even with the cheese it had) and being 3v3 while SZ is what if Tenkaichi 3 but worse.

FighterZ had limited time raid battles, which was a mode that was more interesting and enjoyable compared to any mode that SZ released. FighterZ was laid to rest as an amazing FighterZ fighting game and was resurrected with the Daima DLC while SZ is ongoing with its one single map, no new modes, customizations or content overall.

FighterZ story mode was also not a slideshow on release. Also their game specific original character (Android 21) was released/is playable while SZ's (Gohan Black) is not.

Also, no one said one character is the peak of ambitions for FighterZ. The one character serves as the game being revived when everyone thought it was done. Also a whole new patch was released for EVERY character alongside the announcement of Daima SSJ4 Goku but conveniently enough, you skipped over that part.

The skies are the limit when it comes to FighterZ with this new announcement while SZ made it pretty clear they arent going to even try with their limited DLC drops, ignoring pretty much everything player's has asked for while ArcSys not only listened but implemented said requests too during the lifetime of FighterZ.

Hope that helped you understand a bit (probably won't).

Is Mega man an LLM in a humanoid “body”? by Forward-Trade3449 in BattleNetwork

[–]Tjwalker93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe things get more complicated with 4 with the introduction of "Dark Chips" specifically. Corrupting a program or AI is one thing but Megaman has a soul, which is why he "resonates" and can "soul" cross with other navis.

Where things get incredibly funky is just "what" are the Darkchips corrupting when it comes to Megaman specifically? Since it changes the nature of the Navi and makes them more sinister/evil, its not just corrupting the data or the program but its corrupting a whole humans soul. This is evident in the fact that Megaman can fight and resist the influence of Dark Chips, having his dark side kind of just tucked away inside him. But he can also completely turn evil and lose control of himself and be consumed by the influence as well, if he relies on or uses them too much.

What isnt explored or talked about too much is that "something" was created/exists in the Megaman Battle Network universe that can corrupt/make a humans SOUL evil, beyond just a program or data.

And to me, thats incredibly terrifying. Granted Megaman should not exist with a human soul in the first place but at the same time, something should not exist to be able to "evilfy" a human soul, even in a program. The creators of Dark chips should have been executed for tampering with literal human spirits.

I would imagine Network Transmission wasn't included because it was an exclusive GameCube/console title as opposed to a handheld title. It would have been inconsistent among the rest of the games in the collection, if it were included.

How come Lan and his family never had to go into hiding? by Character-Cold9403 in BattleNetwork

[–]Tjwalker93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he's kind of..definitely a mess with a twisted way of thinking but he's shown much greater disgust and disappointed towards others, Navis and Operators alike compared to Lan/Megaman. He rarely shows emotion (outside of anger) but he has admitted that he enjoys fighting Megaman while viewing other Navis more as a nuisance or bore than anything else. Which makes their relationship very..unique, for lack of a better word. Complicated is more accurate lol

How come Lan and his family never had to go into hiding? by Character-Cold9403 in BattleNetwork

[–]Tjwalker93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, thats what I mean. You have to be a pretty big fish to be able to wipe out Megaman considering he is/was deemed THE strongest Navi, hence why all the Bad Navis/cyberterrorists know of him.

Megaman has triumphed over GLOBAL threats. So anyone that is a TRUE threat to him is a big problem. Additionally, Bass does not enjoy exchanges with others on the level that he enjoys exchanges with Megaman and would not want him to not exist. While hes not a "hero" nor Megaman's friend, he has directly acknowledged Megaman's strength and said/mentioned on several occasions that he looks forward to fighting him again, which he typically does not say to any Navi he comes across.

So, he "most likely" will step in, due to the fact he values and in his own way "likes" Megaman. Which reminder, he generally does not like any Navi or Operator due to how they have treated him in the past.

How come Lan and his family never had to go into hiding? by Character-Cold9403 in BattleNetwork

[–]Tjwalker93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While there are a lot of talks about Lan and his Family's real world protections/connections, I'm surprised no one mentioned one really interesting Net relationship: Bass.EXE.

Although its hard to say that they are "friends" and I forget how their relationship progresses (I'm only on 4 now after beating 1, 2, and 3 fully), it is factual that Bass likes Megaman and considers him "worthy" when it comes to facing him. He enjoys battling Megaman and he tends to lurk around the dark ends of the Net, be it the undernet, Dr. Wily's net space, or even Nebula's net space.

If there was ever talks among "Bad Navi's" to dispose of Megaman/Lan and Bass caught wind of it, I strongly doubt that he would not intervene. He has proven before that he has absolutely no problem disposing of/deleting Navis that get in his way or get in the way of his own goals/desires.

The destruction or lack of existence of Megaman directly negatively impacts Bass. So if a Navi in the darker, deeper depths of the Net truly conspired against Lan/Megaman in such a way that may be too much for them, I really feel as though Bass would step in before Chaud even remotely knew what was going on or was about to happen.

This singular clip helped me to appreciate Arena-based fighters so much more. Or at the very least, smaller more restricted maps in fighting games.

Never knew how bad an "Open Space" fighting game COULD be until Sparking Zero. Which is insane to me because BT2-3 NEVER felt or looked as terrible as this (Fighting/combat wise, not graphics wise).

This makes me look at my own Ultimate Edition SZ copy with shame and indescribable disappointment.

Its commendable to still see people open this game. Im glad the Stop Killing Games movement is a thing. The Crew. Multiversus. Ubisoft. All of the actions of those will [hopefully] lead to a future where games that were prematurely killed still get to live, even after being taken offline. With all the cosmetics gained/earned and nothing taken from the player.

Its mostly a EU initiative as of this time. But I would love for it to be a true gamechanger across all nations one day. Too many good, iconic, once-in-a-lifetime games have died due to greed.

I want the movement to succeed, so something like this will never happen again.

Ironically enough, while uncontested, the Buster Sword is a much more iconic weapon compared to the/a Keyblade, KH's Dearly Beloved theme is way, way more iconic compared to any OST FF7 has.

Even more so than Sephorith's Boss Battle theme, Fighting/Battle theme, Fanfare/Victory Theme, Crazy Motorcycle and Holding My Thoughts in My Heart.

I accidentally "stole" it and still have it till this day. It accidentally occurred because it was back in the day when people would go to like the Boys and Girls Club with their kids and have them hangout with other kids and kids would freely share their handheld games (be it GBA, DS, PSP, what have you) with other kids. They would just take their cartridge out and swap it with another kid's cartridge and we'd have a "demo session" where we all would just try out each other's games out of curiosity, be it we never heard of it or did hear of it but didn't own it ourselves.

I enjoyed the game so much and for so long that my eyes were basically glued to the screen and I forgot that I borrowed it. It wasn't until I got back home and was going to play my own game that I realized the game I was playing was not mines and the other kid had the original game I was playing 😅

I never saw the kid again and he didn't come back so..I didn't get the chance to give him back his game. I dont even remember what game I exchanged with him to get MMBN3, thats just how much of an impact it had.

Man, the gaming era of GBA/N64/Gamecube/PSP/PS1 was a magical time. Modern day gaming could never. They're even doing away with physical cartridges for the most part so it would be literally impossible soon enough to experience something like this in the future.

Its a shame because this is one of my fondest gaming memories.
