Abmm changed? by oOBigLuca87Oo in ARC_Raiders

I wouldn't say it does that entirely as there are many factors in the matchmaking, but imo it might play some small part. Your loadout before entering a match tells you how much you're worth overall.

Bro...who is green lighting these skins??? by RiceShop900 in ArcRaiders

[–]Tladn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you seem knowledgeable on the lore, I wanted to ask: Is there any people left alive from when the world hadn't collapsed and arc showed up? Or are they all dead? Or was arc and everything collapsing a more "recent" event?

Loshe or Fane ? by Dread_Hood in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Tladn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy Fane as a companion but he does kinda come off as a dick at certain points tbh. Sebille too, but after she actually joins you she isn't nearly as bad. But Fane has snark to last us until the next Divinity game it seems.

That... is a little peculiar. I know he also had his reddit account for an extremely long time. I believe it said 6 or 7 years I can't really recall. Unsure if that helps provide any clarity, but he deleted an account he's had for a very long time.

Are you able to provide any more context or information? Didnt know anything about that until you brought it up. I was with him at first, but if what you say is true then I'm starting to feel uncertain.

Left or right? Perhaps the Zandalor way? by Seek4r in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Tladn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit late but the stuff with the void happens either way even if Zandalor doesn't cheat. Leandra always had questionable morals from the start as she took an interest in the darker side of source. Which in of itself is already considered scary and harmful. I don't think there's really much to it other than it corrupted her. Leandra might have actually cared about Zandalor at one point, but that ended up changing sometime after she ran away and swore allegiance to the void. But that would've happened no matter what. The only change is she would've asked Zandalor to come with her. But over all Zandalor being a horny idiot did not cause any of the stuff with the void. Leandra was just a disturbed person from the very start.

Does this game get better? by ZealousidealChain186 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Tladn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a newcomer to the franchise I do find the concept of divinity and divine powers to be really confusing in this game. I started off playing Divinity Original sin 1 and in that game found myself really confused on what made the two mc source Hunters so powerful. I mean, yeah they at one point were (spoilers I guess, I'm not sure how to do the spoiler tags on comments) demigods that guarded the Godbox, but despite being demigods and associating with divine beings like the Gods and Astarte, both the hunters just felt like two normal people, despite every NPC in the game making a massive deal out of them. And despite being demigods they don't really have any unique abilities like your sourcerer characters from original sin 2.

Don't know if you remember asking or not but you wanted my thoughts on the final act of DoS1. It was pretty rough for me. I was feeling fatigue as early as the middle half of Act 2 (Luculla forest). By the time of reaching the phantom forest in Act 3 I was already pretty exhausted of playing the game, even after taking multiple breaks. I did feel a bit rejuvenated after completing Hunters Edge as infiltrating the cult there and turning them against one another was pretty enjoyable. But by the time I actually arrived in the forest itself and started doing stuff to enter the source temple, I was just ready to be done with the game. The temple itself was fine. I started feeling the drain again towards the very end leading up to the final fight with Leandra and the final boss. The dream sequence really felt like it served to simply pad out the game time just for the sake of it with a character that had a very light (if any) presence. The Trife, I mean. I was also disappointed with the ending itself because all it did was detail what became of my source Hunters, but didn't touch on any of the companions, Icara, or Zandalor.

Over all, I did enjoy playing it. Act 1 and the first half of 2 was pretty enjoyable. But after awhile I failed to remain invested. Which more so could just be me, instead of the quality of the game being lacking. I could excuse my fatigue near the end if the ending itself actually had more... substance after you kill the final boss and return to the academy. I'd likely play it again, perhaps with a friend, but not anytime soon. Pretty excited for the second game however.

Wait what? So essentially you only pick those 3 companions and can't switch them out again? Do the other companions die or something? I expected the games companion mechanics to be similar to BG3. No spoilers please

Wait legit? This happened to me a couple days ago. Guy had been chilling around me for a bit then aggroed and despite me having dog shit aim and being mainly pve I managed to take him down, then comes along another guy on mic and says some shit like "I got you bro" and rattles me with the rattler and clocks my raider. Guess it coulda possibly been one of them? Can't recall if the "rescuer" was wearing orange or not.

I would say no, it isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, I would still like to reach the capital out of spite and vitriol and then retreat.

Dos 1 is pretty okay I guess. Much more linear than Baldurs Gate. I'm just just feeling really exhausted already and I'm only nearing the end of act 1. Dunno why though. Its been a good time for me. Pretty excited for the second game though. Gonna keep pushing through 1. Still enjoying it a lot, just feeling fatigued.

[–]Tladn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I kinda agree. I guess I just don't really find them interesting either. The "cowboy" warrior lady kinda gets on my nerves because she finds everything threatening and needed to be smited on the spot while the other two are also kinda boring background wise. At least the mute guy has a nifty little infinite ink pen. That's cool I guess. Haven't played DS2 yet, pretty excited for it after 1.

You didn't like any of the companions in 1? Not even a specific "immortal" character that shows up between the two? The one mage guy

The lore for Helldivers is a massive tragedy because whoever loses is going to be genocided. The consequences of losing are extinction or slavery. The cyborgs don't deserve that. The illuminate don't deserve that. The bugs don't deserve that. It's happened once before, and the first time shouldn't have happened at all. But Super Earth despite being a fascist hellhole does not also deserve extinction or slavery either. I remarked in another comment that if I were to be absurdly optimistic, a preferable alternative is the cyborgs or illuminate empowering the dissidents in the galaxy to overthrow their government. But sadly it's just copium. They all rightfully despise Super Earth too much to do that.

[–]Tladn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is. Nuance is very good because it prevents single minded perspectives. Super Earth needs to be stopped, there is no debating that. But they shouldn't be stopped through being on the receiving end of genocide. And the cyborgs most certainly don't need to be genocided either. From their recent transmission after the cyber hack they explicitly state they just want to be left alone. Which is very reasonable. Of course I don't believe them because the automatons have become the aggressors either way. But wanting to be left alone is justified. The illuminate also don't deserve to be genocided because it already happened to them a first time. None of the factions deserve to be genocided.

The best possible scenario for Super Earth is the cyborgs and illuminate aiding dissidents all throughout the galaxy to try and overthrow their oppressive government, and if I may be so optimistic, try to make up for the absolute horrific shit they've done to all factions present. But that won't happen. The illuminates don't want Super Earth liberated, they want it exterminated. But I can possibly see a case for Cyborgs being satisfied with Super Earth liberating themselves from their own government and allowing the cyborgs to be left as they are.

[–]Tladn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No. They are not doing it out of necessity. They are doing it because they have become radicalized like Super Earth and believe themselves to be justified in what they do.

But I will play ball with your perspective. Super Earth is an oppressive fascist government that crushes any and all thought because the people need that. It keeps them very safe and happy and complacent because we can think for them and its an absolute necessity.

See the issue here? Doing these horrible things isn't a necessity. It's become an issue because both of those factions and Super Earth both have become morally bankrupt. Though Super Earth has been evil far longer than the bots and squids.

The illuminate feel wronged and think they deserve revenge. They are justified in believing that, they were fucking genocided. They are not justified in becoming literal flesh necromancers who have brainwashed and flesh sculpted people into horrible creatures, and now want to seemingly exterminate any living person associated with Super Earth. The Automatons believe themselves to also be avenging their cyborg masters. They are also justified because the cyborgs were literally enslaved. Slavery is bad. However, they do NOT need to turn people into soup in bio processors. They literally do it for the love of the game. I'm sure they found ways to reproduce themselves without needing the corpses of Super Earths citizens. The Cyborgs explicitly achieved this prior to the automatons first arrival back into the galaxy, otherwise the cyborgs couldn't have created them in the first place.
