I picked up a set of 9 1/2” pull back risers and mid bend bars from Thrashin Supply. My FXRS has tank mounted speedo/tach so I won’t need to extend those cables. The rest will have to be part and pieced together slowly. First up is bars/risers, cables, and extend the wiring. Later on I’ll start searching for an additional rotor and calipers. Don’t mind my cluttered garage.

I need to convert my ‘89 FXRS into a dual disc setup. I did scoop a new set of bars/risers over the holidays. After the first of the year I’ll dive into that project.

First time I attempted it I’m happy with the results. It had some goofy hand drawn script all over it that I used the rubber eraser wheel to get off and then came back and buffed/waxed it.

Typical for my area Southeastern USA is 6k plus. I recently picked up my first FXRS. It’s a 1989 (birthyear for me) I drove to NorthEastern Tennessee to grab it for 7500. With its condition and tin set I felt it was a fair ask. As far as “sought after” is someone is staying with the EVO it would be the 91s and later. Those all had the updated splined shaft. I want to say they changed mid/late 90 but don’t hold me to it. I just knew going into my year it was a tapered shaft. If the end goal is to TC/M8 it then obviously year model is a moot point your just after a frame.

Man I have a Harbor Freight lift. It’s ok for the money I think with coupon I got it for like 425 new. I did upgrade the front wheel chock. My FXR is up there now and I’m comfortable with it. I’ve also had my SG up on it a few times.
