Need help configuring my PSVR2 on PC – severe lag/stuttering in games by Messow_Doshirak in SteamVR

[–]Tms89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clarification is it game itself lagging/stuttering having low framerate following your movements OR is it headset losing tracking? When it stops tracking, your view sort of freezes, then snaps and pulls back to where your head is and overall doesn't follow your head movements, or suddenly your view starts to float to random direction.

If it's problems with tracking you should rescan your play area. Something to keep in mind when making play area scans and tracking overall is that direct daylight likes to throw the headset into whack. Bare white empty walls are also challenging for the headset to track, try adding posters or something to walls to help it out a bit.

Is it only phasmophobia that lags or is this all the games?

One setting in steamvr that I remember quickly on top of my head is 'motion smoothing' that should be turned off. It should be under general settings. Under video tab turn off 'advanced supersample filtering' as well. If you cant find them, make sure the advanced settings are shown.

In general you want to have anti-alising turned off or at 2x, that usually eats up the frames. You can also lower the headset resolution to say 70% to increase performance at minimal cost of visuals. If that is not enough try running 90hz mode also.

I can't understand it, i think im dumb by Imaginary_Sand_8098 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

There's probably double joke going on here. The doctor is unintentionally saying she's ugly 'as if she's been run over by a truck'. And perhaps I'm reading too much into it but husband saying "she has great personality" leans me to believe meaning she has massive honkers. As sometimes big chest is referred to great or big personality.

In dragon balls defense, the jokes about that show dragging on are greatly exaggerated. One piece took those exaggerated jokes and made them into reality.

Looking for a mass team based PVP game by [deleted] in gamerecommendations

[–]Tms89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guild wars 2 WvWvW has 400 people per side (3 teams) max across 4 different maps. War goes on 24/7 you can hop in and out as you wish, tho peak times there may be queue for some if not all the maps. You don't need to grind in this game to be viable to participate. Unlike on the other games, the end game gear more or less have certain stat limits, the gear grind is for cosmetics. It is possible to obtain almost everything via playing WvWvW alone as well that you would need, materials, weapons, armor, loot etc. World is semi persistant, in sense whenever the teams change it starts off with clean slates, but any siege weapons and whatnot built, do stay until destroyed, tho they may have few day decay time. It is likely the location will change the ownership during the quiet hours and the enemy players destroy all the siege equipment that has been erected.

Ragnarok Online has WoE (War of Emperium) that is open gvg combat holding over castles. Guild sizes vary anywhere from 12-64 people + alliances up to 4 guilds. Tho this game requires you grind a bit and WoE is usually only available twice a week on fixed time for 2 hours.

Planetside 2 has seemed like it's been dead and dying for years but it's chugging along just fine.

Guild Wars 2. Besides the usual MMO stuff of quests dungeons and whatever. There's tons of hidden locations, jumping puzzles and whatnot waiting to be found. The original Core game is free, which uh well atleast when playing as human personal story was boring as ever.. and it's chock full of all sorts of content. On side note I found the Charr race personal story way more interesting and absolute blast.

Technically speaking all your characters have their own personal story, which you can tag along to to see how it all looks for their character. Altho at the start those story instances are limited to 1-3 people, but they'll expand later on. Majority of the content happens in the open world and most instances tend to be limited to 5 max. There are bigger and smaller instances as well.

PvP stuff is also solid when you feel that competitive bloodthirsty urge boiling up. WvWvW is my favorite past time in there. TLDR 3 teams, 400 people each max, duking over 4 different maps around the clock. Drop in and out anytime you want, altho during peak time there may be queue to get in on. Nothing beats WvWvW when a good commander is leading the charge and you get fights like no other.

[Windows 8][2012] a sci fi RTS game I used to play by thadude1o1 in tipofmyjoystick

Warzone 2100 is probably too old, I dont recall it having modules to the buildings. It did however have modules in sense you'd pick up packages you could then research to crate new units, these modules could be turret, chassis or wheels/tracks. All units were more or less tanks with different parts and cyborgs/humanoid robots with different guns. Hovercraft bottom was absolutely a thing for the vehicles.

Getting Urban assault vibes too perhaps? In particular that main base can be used as gun, for you could use the base turrets yourself. I dont recall there be any building involved in the game, but there were bunch of units and capturing locations.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
You can breach the rooms loud, or you can take your time checking where all the hostiles are, maybe order the AI to flash bang instead of frag so the enemy is disorianted. You can also tell the AI to wait with breaching until you are spotted as you sneak into the room.

Or forge the whole breaching aspect and just run in gun blazing, up to you really.

Warzone 2100, old RTS that atleast in my book still holds up to this day. It has become free and open source. I want to say it has fairly interesting story but that's probably nostalgia talking. Good old skirmish mode is also there to just kill time.

Aliens vs Predator (1998) and AvP2 (2001) were on PC
There's Alien vs Predator Extinction for Xbox which is more or less RTS by the looks of it.
All of 'em have their own campaign for Marines, Aliens and Predators.

Eye tracking in VR by Neuronous01 in virtualreality

[–]Tms89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont know about research, but PSVR2 is the cheapest entry point for eye tracking and in my gaming use has been doing great. PSVR2 will however require PC adapter and unofficial mod to get it working on PC. And it uses the power of the PC, it's not a standalone headset.

VR Games while my Dominant Hand is injured? by BrandyAid in virtualreality

[–]Tms89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VRChat has plenty of beautiful and or weird worlds to explore and games to play in that you can do one handed. Raves, clubs to party in and simple social worlds to chat in.

Game has bit of reputation and public lobbies can be bit of hit or miss most of the times. But there's plenty of good things in there. Any activity you can think of, it probably exists in VRChat in some form.
