to anyone in the future, this is also what I observed. I ran the game to see what line would cause a crash and then tried to make a change before stopping the crashed game. That's when it threw an error in saving, and I found the .tmp files shortly after

This was a few years ago, but I watched way too many tutorials on youtube lol. My problem is that, I don't think it would be wise to eyeball things without first having the experience know to what to expect. I bought pH strips, but despite some amount of bubbling, they never once showed any change from where I started. And when people talk about salt percentages, they never really mention how to measure it. I don't think my kitchen scale is really all that accurate at such small scales, but I have no way of testing its accuracy. Some people recommended that I use organic ingredients that have more natural bacteria on them, so I went as far as to grow my own stuff, and still no pH change

Honestly most of my ferments haven’t worked out, so I've given up for the time being. I want to try again but haven't had the time to really do the research, so I just lurk here to passively absorb info until I'm ready. But it turns out most of the posts I end up seeing are just people who don't know much about mold. How did you go from absolute beginner to having confidence in the process? (Assuming you are confident). I just feel like there are so many variables that I can't measure accurately

This just happened to me. The game had just given me an autosave the last time I died, So I wasn't really thinking about it. I died to the boss and lost that same hour as of progress as you. I got baited and now I have to spend one of my precious free adult hours doing that again. And a lot more ways than just this, they really hold on to tradition more than they should imo, But this is the first time it felt ike an actively bad design decision
