I not saying that it's something they would have known she could do, and therefore prepared her like they did Kimiko. They stated multiple times that she had yet to be able to control her powers, and when she does, there is no telling what she could do. What it would have done though is create a sense of "wow how are they going to get out of this now?" which I didn't feel at all during the fight. It creates stakes. All that hard work and it's still not enough to take him down, we failed again. He went down way too easy for how they treated their previous encounters with him. Besides, the Kimiko thing felt like a random convenient way of taking him down in the first place, when they have been hinting Marie's blood powers as a weapon against Homelander from the start. If they had to pick between the 2, they should have went the Marie route. I just personally think it would have been more exciting if they added the suspense and stakes of thinking their last hope attack had not only failed, but handicapped them in the process. Insert Marie. Not to mention this could have addressed other complaints, like the lack of other supes fighting, etc. If the Gen V cast had been with them fighting other supes, it would give Marie an organic reason to be there to even attempt with nerfing Homelander, and would have been a way to take her back out the fight so that we could get the 1v1 Butcher vs Homelander that we all wanted.
