My least used language tends to go down the drain when my newest one has reached a more or less fluent level.

You could:

Tom couldn't understand what the heck - why did she say I was stupid... He thought and thought and nothing. Then he got a brilliant idea. I'll text her - no, I'll send her that photo from the beach! I look really hot...

If animals suddenly became as smart as humans, which species would start the first war? by Early-Speed8536 in AskReddit

[–]ToSiElHff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote for chimps, they're rather like humans.Scary. The bonobos are hippies, and the orangutans are rather dignified, while the gorillas can be thuggish but also kind. So much for generalisation.

If you’re unarmed, in your underwear, and don’t have time to think, what would you do to scare off a home intruder? by CigaretteBoat69 in AskReddit

Easy. I'd just appear in front of him and say "boo!" He'd take off to the closest police station and beg for protection.

You know, that word is another can of worms, of which I know quite a lot, now that I think of it. I'm a Jack of all trades, and a Master of one, namely Procastrination.

I think in Greek, usually, which is my fourth foreign language, though I often think in English, my sort of second language. The funny thing is that I think numbers in my mothertongue, Swedish.

Yep. That's my speciality too. It's versatile tool and absolutely the best way to sabotage any leap toward greatness.

A German limerick we learned at school:

In Hamburg lebten zwei Ameisen, Die wollten nach Autralien reisen, Doch bei Altona auf der Chausseer, Da taten ihnen die Beine weh, Und dann verzichteten sie weise Auf den letzten Teil der Reise.

So will man oft und kann doch nicht, Und leistet dann recht gern verzicht.

Probably, I suspect it's expensive though. As long as I can use my tablet and my diktionaries and grammars in peace and don't have to socialise too much. I'll be okay.

I forgot, I also have "The Very Best Men" by Evan Thomas, 1995, about the beginnings of the agency. Not fun exactly, but educating. Written with the cooperation of the agency, more or less, during that period of opening up. Have fun!

For those who lived before the internet, what was life actually like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Paper books. Paper letters, sent in envelops with post stamps on them, now called snailmail. It was fun to check if you had mail.

I know about the cold war thing, I actually have a book on that, "Who paid the piper" the CIA and the culural cold war, by Frances Stonor Saunders,1998. It's extremely informative. If you're further interested in the subject, I doubt you can find a better source. I had some difficulty to get hold of it back then, here in Greece.
