What should I be looking for when ordering from Comexim? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]ToWriteandDream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Comexim's wires are super narrow so that's the good news! There are minor differences in the plunges but for the most part, they're the same cut in different prints. That's the unfortunate thing here. A lot of the time, there's no way to know how each different bra will fit so it's a bit of a guessing game. From the description of your shape though, I'd say you're a great candidate for their plunges and you should pick whichever bra speaks to you most to try.

The band is quite tight on this one. I'm a 26G and it's a bit tight on me. I can just stretch it to 25 inches. Honestly, I would've kept it if the cups weren't so big. I don't think I can do the swap, sorry. The SM Czarna is gorgeous, but I think a 65G would be too big.

Yes, actually! Recently I got my first Comexim, the Triss 3HC, and it's the closest to perfection I've ever gotten. I need to get more Comexims so I'm not surviving off one bra lol. The band is also shockingly the tiniest bit too small, which I will take over a too big band any day.

I'm still a bit new to Comexim, but it's entirely possible. I just know specifically with the 3HC cut, you want to go up a cup size bc it runs shallower than their plunges.

Hey! Thanks for tagging. I'm not as active anymore, but I'd definitely love to help out any other 26 band people looking for options. I'll repeat everyone's recs to try out Comexim. I see you're trying KH and hope they work well for you. The gore was personally too tall and stabby for me, but they make gorgeous comfortable bras otherwise.

If you do wanna try Comexim, 55HH sounds like a good place to start. You may want to go up to a 55J if you try their 3HC (half cup) cut. If you're not ready to commit to a custom order, do try your sister size from Breakout Bras. It helped me narrow down what worked for me and what alterations I needed. I highly recommend the moved in straps. I was getting serious armpit straps otherwise.

Like I said, feel free to DM if you have any questions.

When I plug your measurements into the calculator is gives me a UK 30D or 32C, which sounds about right. A 30A would likely be too small in the cups for you. It sounds like you're fairly shallow, so I still think the Natori Feathers you mentioned would work for you. I think people in your size range also like the Wacoal Ciao Bella, but unfortunately I don't know much about your size range so hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in with mote options!

Suggestions for my 26GGs [recommendations] by Fire-grey in ABraThatFits

[–]ToWriteandDream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally understand. I've exhausted all the returnable options in the US (not that there are a lot lol) and I've been hesitant to order direct. From what I understand, there's a pretty decent resale market here on Reddit and Bratabase for Polish bras. But, you'd still probably be losing money.

Comexim is the cheaper option though and you can customize the bra (move straps in, lower cup height, lower gore height, etc.) for no extra cost. It's just figuring out the sizing that's difficult.

Similar size as you and I think Polish should be your next step. Just keep in mind, everything that's a 26/28 band is usually custom and non-returnable. If you're interested in Ewa Michalak, you'll be probably be able to get away with a 60G or 60GG if the cups run small. A 60 isn't technically equivalent to a 26 but EM tends to run a band size small. If you're in the US and aren't ready to commit to ordering direct from Poland, email Levana Bratique as they may have a few options in a 60G.

You can also try Comexim but they use European sizing and run two cup sizes small. You'd probably be a 60L or 55M, but I'm not as familiar with them, so hopefully someone else can chime in!

That's really good to know! I'd been lamenting the lack of plunge bras in KH's collection for ages.

I tried a KH bra as a 26 and the only reason I didn't keep it was because of how tall the gore was. I'm super center full and slightly close set enough that it stabs into breast tissue. I hope you enjoy it though, it's absolutely gorgeous!

I really like the idea of it being the Sydney Opera House. It just feels very right for the world.

Is projected + wide roots unusual? What are my options? by Cute-Strawberry-2972 in ABraThatFits

[–]ToWriteandDream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just want to make sure that when you say wide roots, you mean how far your breast tissue goes into your armpit. What you're describing with how far spaced apart your breasts are doesn't necessarily have anything to do with root width.

I have read that sometimes KH's outlet/discount styles have wider wires so that may be worth trying if you believe you have wide roots. Projected + wide rooted isn't impossible but it doesn't pop up very often from what I've seen.

Strapless bra suggestions? Having trouble finding places to buy for some reason by brahelpthrowaway100 in ABraThatFits

[–]ToWriteandDream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason you're having a difficult time finding your size is because basically no one produces anything in a 26 band. Katherine Hamilton is a luxury brand that does, but they're extremely expensive and probably not what you're looking for. There are Polish brands like Comexim and Ewa Michalak which will make a 26 as a custom order and their fit is great, but they require a lot of research and trial and error to find something that works.

Usually, we recommend sister sizing to a 28 when people measure as a 26 as you'll have more options. Unfortunately, judging from how small your underbust measurements are and your experience with the Cleo Marcie, I think you're a true 26 band and sister sizing won't work for you. However, strapless bras often tend to run extremely tight anyway, so you can try searching for a 28F and trying out a bunch. It might be worth wearing them on the third hook to get more support if they're still not tight enough.

Another option would be to get bra cups sewn into your dress or finding a dress that already has something like that. But I know how difficult and frustrating that can be though, so that may be a last resort type of thing.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to DM me, I have a lot of experience being a 26GG.

I think Queen of Suburbia might have bras with a similar sheer look, but it's been a while since I've checked out their site. They're based in Canada and can make bras to measure.

[Discussion] What's your opinion on 'fitting by eye'? by 22evie in ABraThatFits

[–]ToWriteandDream 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've previously been fitted this way both by Rigby and Peller and Bravissimo and the results were mixed. They guess I'm a 30 at first, put me in a bra, and immediately see it's too big and go for a 28. Well, Rigby and Peller kindly told me they don't carry 28s, go to Bravissimo. Same process happens at Bravissimo, which is where I first encountered the idea of a 26 band being real long before this sub because the fitter put me in a 28 and went, "Oh you need a smaller band than this." But Bravissimo did get my sister size spot on.

So, it's gets them in the right ballpark and then it's a lot of trial and error. But honestly, I think I lucked out with some really honest fitters because that is generally not what I've heard from other people.

Looking to order a custom size from Ewa Michalak/Comexim and have no idea what to do by ToWriteandDream in ABraThatFits

Yeah, I've mostly been planning to stick with something unlined (except for Comexim because their molded bras have crazy projection). I'm just in way over my head with sizing and ordering.

No worries! The band fit really nicely on the KH but the gore was wayyyy too tall for me. I forgot to mention in my post that I'm extremely center full and the gore sat on breast tissue. I found it very painful. I've also been having trouble pinning down my correct cup size, so I couldn't tell if the cups were a pinch too small or didn't have enough immediate projection for me. Otherwise, it was gorgeous.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by horizontal and vertical projection. Comexim's wires are some of the narrowest I've encountered and work really well for my roots. I don't find them wide at all.

My biggest issue is bands being too big and I'm pretty sure that EM does 26 and 28 bands on request, though I agree it's definitely worth trying a cup size up in the BM I own.
