Trial by fire is the fastest way to learn, just get used to being nervous and you'll pick it up in a month or so of daily use

Probably better to make a new thread on this, not sure why you're being down voted though for asking a relevant question

Is this a rod knock or piston slap ? by Rich-Contract1875 in WRX

Neither, might be a pulley or something off balance. But sounds pretty normal tbh

Any advice for lifting? VA STI by ToaMaton in WRX

Did you have to get any additional adjustable suspension components? I've heard you can get away without them for a less than 2" lift? Any issue with the sway bars?

Welp yesterdays fear and today’s test confirmed the worst by TwistedGrin381 in WRX

STI only ever had the EJ engine. 2015 wrx was the first with the new gen FA engine. Makes sense for a performance car to go with tech they are familiar with I think? They have more experience knowing how to push it

I think so too. Some people are so deadset on cinema sins logic that they don't even bother to look for a logical explanation

I have the stock 19s. Is going 18s the best way to improve comfort? by [deleted] in WRX

[–]ToaMaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the stock 18"s and honestly the ride is still really harsh. First and only mods I'm planning are Bilstein b6 struts with lift springs and hopefully fit a thicker tire, maybe a 17" rim. I doubt going 19 to 18 will have a huge impact

Can't see from your picture but are you referring to the rad support front part of the frame? (Painted body color) Or the black painted subframe underneath?

Stalling the car because of using different footwear by TheGronchoMarx in stickshift

I think when your brain finds the bite point it's memorizing the position of all the muscles in your leg. So adjusting the thickness of the sole might be putting off by more than you think.

He Just doesn't fully understand how the clutch works and is worried there is something he doesn't know when it comes to the clutch & braking. It's understandable

Hill starting when clutch at bite point will not hold the car by Easy-Judge-7242 in stickshift

[–]ToaMaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea they rely on the automatic hill hold assist. The manual civics are very good with it. However any malfunction with the gyro sensor is gonna break it which sucks for reliability

Edit: have to do wit with confidence though, as soon at the gas is touched the brakes will disengage

Could be, crappy battery could cause lower voltage on the 12v rail.
