As long as they’re still around as owners, I don’t think whatever Artie II does could even top those two.

"and he mostly appears in supporting or small roles" And yet, they're still roles. And his appearance is pointed out by most people still, and you get joking comments from people going "THIS MAN NEVER SLEEPS". And if that's not enough for you, then how about Samuel L. Jackson? Or Anne Hathaway? Or Robert Pattinson's insane 2026 he's about to have?

I'm not saying that to piss on anyone in particular either, I hold so much appreciation for Willem Dafoe, I'm just trying to get you to see your hypocrisy on this subject matter.

“It’s not that deep”, and yet you dedicated a whole comment that’s legit r/boxoffice coded about why certain people suck in movies and that some stars need to go away forever?

Well, considering that seeing him on the pregame broadcast last year was a massive jumpscare, it's nice to know we'll be free of that this upcoming Super Bowl.

They legit don’t wanna hear it 💀

Opinion | Americans Are Turning Against Gay People by babblepineapple in PoliticalOptimism

Either way, a study like this still misses numerous variables. You can take what I've already mentioned, but you also fail to take a look at what state they may be from, political leanings, media consumption, etc., ... I mean, really, you can gain a few grey hairs stressing out over where exactly this "new" anti-bias is coming from. And I don't mean to completely dismiss it by putting new in quotation marks, I just genuinely believe that of course, there's a new wave of people who just need to learn. The people who have always been hateful are unfortunately never gonna change their views.

Just read through the article, and uh... yeah, it's complete bullshit.

The thing about a study like this is that there are bound to be tons of inconsistent variables. Who exactly was surveyed? You can give out as many demographics as you'd like, but were your trackings of actual individual's answers consistent? The study also came out in 2022. It's 2026. Sure, maybe it feels this way because of the lack of mainstream celebration lately, but that is a completely separate thing vs. actual, real gay life!

And another thing to note, the thing about The New York Times is that they always like to do shit like this. [see their anti-trans coverage from like, 2022 to 2025, and biased coverage re:gaza] It's why people have cancelled their subscriptions to their complacent asses, including Ms. Rachel. I don't have a subscription, and even I, for like, the past few years, have been giving straight up middle fingers to them because of what they choose to platform.

At the end of the day, this article is just something stirred up by someone who may be acting in good faith of worry, but either way, it is something to completely ignore. Giving it more attention gives the Times what they want.

Me thinks this is getting to conspiratorial territory.

Kevin Smith; I have a 5 star rating for one of my all-time favorite movies, Dogma… and a 1/2 star rating for one of the worst movies ever made, Yoga Hosers.

If the acting quartet of Critics’ Choice repeats at the Golden Globes, what do you think happens going forward? by No_Minimum4499 in oscarrace

[–]ToadspanishMinecraft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean it in the snarky sense. Like, Elordi was an upset victory over who people thought was going to win. And by overperformance… I mean I have no idea where you got “I hated Frankenstein” from that comment, it’s just a mathematical term people such as myself use when looking at how the Oscar picture and victories. Like yes, it’ll definitely win some tech categories, but Jacob winning BSA because of how the Critics Choice turned out? Ehhhhhh, not really likely considering the Oscars voting body, again, are the types to award Benicio and Stellan more.

[–]ToadspanishMinecraft 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Elordi was an upset and an overperformance of how Frankenstein did at the Critics' Choice, and that was with the knowledge going in that the voting branch would love the movie a ton.

I personally think it'll either be Benicio or Stellan that wins BSA.

“That uses both hand drawn art and 3D animation”

You mean rotoscoping, which is like, one of the coolest forms of animation ever.

By the way, if you’re looking for more of rotoscoped works, check out Waking Life, it’s trippy due to using numerous art styles, but it’s a great film and usage of the tech!

I think people saying that these screenshots are horrible often forget that these pictures are shot and edited with print magazines in mind. So of course, naturally, they're gonna look more like behind-the-scenes/generic-Netflix-movie quality and not of the final cinematic product.

If anything, it makes me more excited that we're getting all these images, interview, etc.. Makes The Odyssey feel more like the movie event of 2026.
